This thermometer is compact in size, folds away for convenient storage, and has a built in carrying hole. The small size is perfect to take along for grilling, tailgating, or vacations. The thermometer has a wide temperature range of -40° F to 392° F (-40° C to 200° C) that can be read on the large 0.7” LCD readout. The thermometer comes with an ON/OFF button on the back of the unit along side the C/F switch. The thermometer runs on one LR44 battery (included).
Helpful hints: Digital thermometers are not meant to be left in food during cooking. The plastic and electronic components could be damaged with excessive heat.

A: This is not recommended for candy. Note - This is an instant read thermometer (not a leave-in) with a short stem and max temp of 392F. If you need a candy thermometer, we recommended using an actual candy thermometer which Taylor does sell on target.com (search 070-05-3600)

If you are planning to use it infrequently, it may be worth it for the price. But I was using it about 4x a week and it broke after a month- the plastic that lets you open and close the probe broke, so it just hung there like a limp noodle

Super fragile. Broke in less than a week. Bought for thanksgiving so i could get better at testing my meat temps. That was a shirt lived dream. I wish it was sturdier. The steel wand came off as i wiped it down with a damp cloth.

Bought this on sale and it does the job but the plastic part that rotates broke the first time that I used it. Had to tape it to keep the metal piece from falling out. Would have rather bought the more expensive one, but it does the basic job.

Trying to save you from a bad experience. Purchased for thanksgiving which was yesterday. First time use, would just go up and shut off somewhere around160F. Would just turn off, screen off! Thank god we kept our old one in junk drawer it saved thanksgiving turkey! I would invest in something else!!

Within maybe two weeks of purchasing the little plastic part that connects the probe to the reader snapped, and just had loose cords. It still worked, but was really frustrating. I bought this as a replacement to another that I loved, but accidentally had left at the lake. this probe just really disappointed me. it takes so long to read the temperature in comparison to my other instant digital thermometer. I ended up getting my favorite digital thermometer back and just kept this broken flimsy one as back up
