Description

This hardworking thermometer from Taylor is a great tool for every home cook. It gives you rapid temperature readings, has a wide temperature range and can hold readings even after its been removed from your food. This thermometer is also IPX5 water-resistant for worry-free handwashing after use. Using advanced thermocouple technology, this Taylor thermometer reacts faster to changes in temperature and gives a more stable reading than traditional thermometers. It provides a stabilized reading in 6 seconds or less in food, reading temperatures ranging from -40°F to 572°F.

The ultra-thin 1½-mm tip leaves a much smaller hole in your food, so fewer flavorful juices will escape as you check the temperature throughout the cooking process. Also features a HOLD function, which stores the temperature of your food on the bright red backlit display even when removed. The 4" stainless steel probe folds into thermometer casing for storage and acts as the ON/OFF switch.

QUALITY AND PRECISION: Taylor has been making precision products for kitchen measurement for over 170 years, using only the highest quality components for accurate temperature tracking. Measure precisely in both Fahrenheit and Celsius units.

CONVENIENT FEATURES: HOLD function locks temperature into place on the display even when the thermometer is removed from the food.

HIGHLY ACCURATE: Extra-wide temperature range: -40F to 572F / -40C to 300C. IMPORTANT: The F/C switch is located in the battery compartment.

BATTERY INCLUDED: Operates on one CR2032 battery (included).

HELPFUL HINTS: Digital thermometers are NOT meant to be left in food during cooking. The plastic and electronic components could be damaged with excessive heat.

  • A: To switch to C, remove the battery cover and battery to access the switch, located in the hole under the C/F marking on the therm case. Move the switch with a small tool. Replace battery & cover.

  • A: Hi Sarah, Here are the directions for recalibrating your thermometer. 1. Fill a container with crushed or chipped ice. 2. Add water slowly until it overflows. 3. Add more ice until it is packed tightly to the bottom of the container, allowing excess to overflow. 4. Insert the stem of the thermometer at least 2” into the container, making sure it does not touch the sides or bottom of the container, and allow it to stabilize for 5 minutes. 5. If the temperature reading is 32°F (0°C), the thermometer is accurately calibrated. 6. If it is necessary to adjust the thermometer, press and hold the “Hold” button for 3 seconds. 7. The display will show “CALu” and enter user calibration mode. 8. When the LCD flashes, press and hold the “Hold” button for another 3 seconds to adjust the calibration value. 9. The thermometer is now calibrated. 10. If the “Hold” button is not press within 5 seconds when the LCD is flashing, the calibration mode is automatically exited back to normal operation.     Complete trash does not even turn on

    This does not work at all. It doesn’t even turn on. I tried to return it through the app but it claims it can’t be returned, or even selected as a product to request help for. I no longer have the packaging because I didn’t think it would be a defective item.

    Junk

    Could not open the battery cover to remove the protective slip. The thermometer cannot work until the protective slip is off. What a piece of junk. Do not buy.

    Not worth the price

    Check with a glass of ice water. Seemed accurate. Display is dimly lit. Came with a dead battery. Shuts off quickly need to use the hold function to see temp. Magnet does not hold weight of item to hang up. Over priced for the quality of item.

    have to open and reopen the probe to get it to work and not fall asleep while actively trying to prep to temp. No way to calibrate that I can find... it's reading about 30-60 degrees off suddenly after only a couple months of use. hold button is annoying.. I'm now confused why it even exists.

    Accurate and small

    I purchased this as a replacement for my old meat thermometer and it is so much easier to use. I like that by closing the needle part it turns off and it’s compact and has a loop to hang up in my cabinets. The thermometer is accurate and definitely a good buy.

    Complete waste of money - multiple failures!

    First one we got was dead on opening - was showing a maxed out temperature error of hundreds of degrees in something that was barely 100 degrees. Returned that one as a dud. Replacement one ate through batteries like crazy, as in one a month after very little use. That one then somehow got water inside and fried out after again only a couple months. Complete waste of money.
