Q: An it be used in candy making?
A: Hi Nancy, We recommend an actual candy/deep fry thermometer which is longer and goes to a higher temperature. The stem on the 1" instant read dial is not very long so it depends on the pan being used and it only goes up to 220F, while most candy recipes require higher temperatures. Good news is that Target does carry a Target candy/deep fry thermometer so please take a look at that item. Thanks!

Q: the face of the thermometer shows 0, 20......145. How would one measure the temp of water for yeast growth? Looking for temps btw. 20 and 145. I don't see them on the dial.
A: The thermometer has markings for the other degrees of temperatures; the photo is angled in a manner that is obscuring the rest of the dial face. We will work to add additional images. Thanks!
