Q: The baking cooking surface is aluminum and the exterior surface is aluminum. I thought ceramic coatings were aluminum-free. Can you please explain?
A: Thank you for your question! We understand the confusion — it's a great point. To clarify, ceramic coatings are often applied to aluminum cookware, but the term "ceramic" refers to the coating, not the base material. In the case of the TECHEF CeraTerra pot, the cooking surface is made of aluminum and coated with a ceramic-based nonstick layer. This coating provides a smooth, PFAS-, PTFE-, and PFOA-free cooking surface. The aluminum base is used because it offers excellent heat conductivity and helps ensure even cooking. However, the food does not come into direct contact with the aluminum — it only touches the ceramic-coated surface. We hope this helps clear things up, and please let us know if you have any other questions!
