I need a rod that will fit inside a 25 inch space. This product was marked as 24 - 40 inch in length. The smallest that this product will adjust is 32 inches. I used a pipe wrench covered with a towel to try to force it to a smaller size and the surface nevertheless got scratched so I can't return it. I don't think I can trust the label on different package, so have to search elsewhere. Now I'm stuck with a curtain and rings but no rod.

This bar doesn't tighten or (lock) when turned. Like it's strips inside so it won't stay tight on the wall to support the shower curtain. When not between the two walls and opened wider, it seem to tighten while being held in hand.

I'm not sure why other reviewers have had trouble setting up this tension rod, but I didn't. I have three of them and the tension mechanism worked just fine. Mind you, it does take patience, but I it was easy for me. I have each of the rods inside door jams to use to hang up damp clothing straight from my washing machine. 2 or 3 damp bath rugs hung from a pants hanger holds its weight on one rod. I'm satisfied with the product.
