Why oh why is shrimp powder added? For umami, You can use dried miso, nori, mushroom, olive, etc. I would love this soup and could use as a base for many noodle dishes but vegetarians can't eat this. There are so many other ways to add a splash of umami, please consider one of them and you will get a boatload more customers who are vegetarian or vegan.

I used to love this, but I just tried some today, and the fish smell was overwhelming. I thought I was imagining things and tried a bite, but the fish taste was so strong, I ended up getting sick.

I haven't had this soup for some time, but tonight I was sorry I bought it. It never tasted fishy before, but it does now. It used to be much hotter chili-wise. Not now. And the texture of the broth made me throw it out. It is thick as if there's some corn starch or gelatin thickening agent in it. That's not how it used to be. It was a lovely flavorful, spicy-hot, mostly clear broth. Now it's kind of thick and grainy and gross. I'll give away what I have left. I'm not eating it.
