This book has a good story line and the idea of it could have made it a phenomenal book, but it fell flat. As other reviews stated, it was poorly written. So many holes in different parts of the story that left me with so many questions. So many details left out of situations and never fully explained. confusing timeline and POV, and several sections that were irrelevant to the story. So many random victims that were never fully developed. Also, graphic details of torture that I found to be disturbing. The ending was terrible, made no sense, and I would hope she’s planning on making a sequel considering how she ended it - if she doesn’t, she should refrain from ever making another book. But, it definitely caught my attention and was a short and quick read. I definitely wanted to know what was going to happen next. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. There’s better books out there.

The plot is a good idea, just executed poorly. The writing is subpar. The characters are not developed well. It’s just not a good read unless you ran out of other books.

This book surpassed my already high expectations. I enjoyed this book so much, its one of my favorite things I've read in a while. I'm known for guessing plot twist but this one really suprised me but made total sense at the same time.

This I loved this book! One of my fav thrillers. Love her and her podcast and super excited for the next book to come out. While I understand the other reviews stating it was disappointing and not the best written book, it is her first and I think those aspects were really easy to look past. I read this book in a couple hours and loved the storyline.

I love Alaina & Ash. Morbid is the best. This book however, is soo not :( and I really hate to say that because I’m such a fan. There were a lot of pointless descriptive tangents. It seemed like she was just trying fill a page with random words which made it impossible for me to get into. I unfortunately do not recommend :,(

Didn’t finish it, was too much of a cat-and-mouse story that just went back and forth endlessly…waste of $$

I don't understand the negative reviews. I struggle to get into books& I finished this in two days! If it wasn't for work, it would have been one day!
Poorly written, obvious there was no editor.

I was gifted this book and was excited to read it since it is supposedly a best seller. Very disappointed, it's obviously a first time author with intent to write a series hoping to monetize from her podcast fans. Chapters switch between antagonist and protagonist, but the characters never get fully formed. One "chapter" is less than one and half pages! Situations and descriptions are inserted into the story as word fillers, but don't add anything to the story. Save your money and don't buy the book. Save your time and read something else.

I devoured this book in a week and I typically struggle to get through a book 100%. This book keeps your attention, switching the point of view of each chapter between a serial killer and a medical examiner determined to stop him. Set in New Orleans.
