From the moment the songbird tried to appeal to a serpent, she was mine.” “To attack the king is one thing,” he repeated, a new darkness to his tone “But to attack his queen will send you to the Otherworld in pieces.” I absolutely love the world LJ Andrews has created with Broken Kingdoms and now expanded on with The Ever King! This was an immediate favorite and page turner, I read it in less than 10 hrs. I literally couldn't put it down. She has created another amazing world with an intriguing plot, fascinating new characters (with some old characters making an appearance), and her flawless delivery. To learn more about the Littles being grown up is so delightful and I am totally here for it. The spiciness level has increased and was so delicious. Erik & Livia are so fiery in their interactions and passion. They possess both charm, complexity, & dark traits, making them incredibly engaging and relatable characters. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Erik and what happened after his rescue in Dance of Kings & Thieves (book 6 of the broken kingdoms) but it was heartbreaking to learn all he endured from his uncle, grandmother and his people. Erik Bloodsinger is my new bookboyfriend! This story has action, adventure, mystery, and steamy romance that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Check out the TG warnings and beware there is a major cliffhanger but the allure of the story is soooooo worth it!

This book has an identity crisis- Pirates of the Caribbean meets Fae vikings. Characters are one-dimensional and just... bland. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
