First off, I have to say -this does NOT smell great, but it is nowhere near as bad as some of these reviews would indicate. It has a slight fishy/metallic smell and it fades completely away within a minute. Honestly, I consider myself a "super smeller" - and I immediately noticed the slight fishy smell - but unless you're dabbing this behind your ears and on your wrists before a date, don't even worry about it. (and if you ARE doing that, well, you have things to worry about! Within the first week I've noticed my dark spots fading and my skin looks overall very fresh and glowy. At this price point, this product is a definite keeper!

Just exploring the ordinarys new products so I bought this. nothing else changed in my regimen but my skin is glowing again and my dark spots are fading-wasnt expecting that. I see reviews saying it smells but its like a light metallic smell to me and I barely notice. I use the vitamin C powder from this brand which I love but I didnt not know this product also has vitamin c in it. so becareful if you layer and use certain types of vitamin c. Over use of vitamin C can cause skin sensitivity. Will purchase agin for sure!

STINKS. Smell is absolutely vile. Thought something was wrong but others have commented that the smell is worth putting up with. Product has done nothing for my skin and the smell is definitely not worth putting up with.

I bought this because I couldn't find my Ascorbyl Glucoside in-store. Four weeks into using it, and I'm very happy with it. The smell, however, is pretty terrible. If you are sensitive to fishy smelling serums, skip this one.

I can’t get past the smell. To me, it smells like fish. My boyfriend even commented on the smell and asked if I was using something new. The smell fades a little but it’s pretty bad.

Instant glow and hydration but the horrible smell is almost enough to return. The smell is strongly fishy and definitely lingers. Not sure if the glow is enough to make up for it.

a lot of serums can be too heavy on my skin and give me whiteheads. this sinks in quickly and while I do look a bit shinier after using it, I think it looks more like a glow rather than grease. has helped with my acne scars and redness also. I will say the odor is a little offensive; this contains fungal extract and you definitely get that pungent earthy smell from it, but it fades pretty quick.

I might be slightly biased but I love anything from The Ordinary. This serum is quite hydrating and gives my skin a subtle glow after consistent use. It's not too big so it's easy to bring with me to all of my travels. gifted by theordinary
