This is such a cool concept and I wish I could write a good review, but this has been a complete nightmare. My 5 year old was so over the moon to pick this game up today, we got it home and set it up without issue and had a blast . . . for all of a few minutes. We've tried every troubleshoot known to man, to no avail. There is clearly some sort of connection issue between the control and the skeleton. 0/10 do not recommend. Unless you fancy an hour round trip to a store followed by an hour trying to troubleshoot, followed by a third hour trying to console an inconsolable child.
Way too hard to see!

Couldn't see the ghosts unless in pitch black room. My kids are a bit afraid of the dark, so this game was not a hit.

This game is so much fun. We got it for the kids last Christmas and the teens and toddlers enjoy playing it together. We turn the lights off and get into character lol

This is a great game, however you need a very dark room to play .
A good collector toy.

I really liked the concept of this toy but, it wouldn't stay working for us long enough to play it. The feet and hands fell off also. they were easy to put back on but wouldn't stay on. The light was green but, very dim. He was very cute for a Halloween decoration.
Either a knockoff or pure garbage.

Awful, the gun that came with it does not have a reload button on top nor does it make any sound. Upon watching review videos I see our gun is about half the size that other people have. The gun doesn’t record count and it doesn’t make sound affects. Will be returning this asap!
A big hit

Bought for an 8 year old boy, who had no idea what it was all about, but he loved it. He uses it every chance he can. Even his younger sister (age 5) loves it.
Great for Halloween!

This is a pretty fun game but the setup is a little clunky. It also needs 3 AAA and 3 AA batteries which are not included, so that was a lot of batteries for one game in my opinion. From a setup standpoint, the gun does not have an on/off switch, so resetting the game takes some time to figure out. You have to point the gun at the eye after you press the button to start. The buttons don't really make a noise. So, it's just a bit clunky. Once we figured it out, though, it was fun and pretty easy at all levels. My 6you got a kick out of it an it worked great in a dark room. It's definitely something that my kids will play with again, especially around Halloween!
Cute but only battery powered- and no batteries included.

This is a fun Halloween game and display for the holidays. It comes with the gun to shoot at the silhouettes that are displayed on the wall. The item is nice but I don’t like that it is only battery powered. It also doesn’t come with the batteries so that is why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Cute for someone who loves Halloween!

I had never seen something like Johnny the Skull. It’s a fun interactive game for the family. Just keep in mind 2 things. First this is definitely a game for 6 and over (as suggested). Just a bit much for the younger kiddos. Secondly it takes SIX batteries and I’ve noticed do eat them up, so maybe rechargeable batteries will be more economic. It’s fun though. Just keep those in mind.

Great game to play alone or with others. Watching Johnny spin his head around as he flashes ghosts onto surfaces around you is exciting because you never know where he will go. The whole system is simple and light weight. Johnny is not scary looking, bottom heavy due to the batteries, and his head is like a bobble head to allow it to move around freely. The trigger is light weight and fits in the palm of my hand easily. Johnny has a switch to turn on and off as well as 3 levels for playing. After your turn is over you give the trigger to the next player. Only downfalls we have come across is the trigger doesn't turn off after using and that there is only one trigger so you can't play together technically. Taking turns works but it would be better to have two triggers for a chance to play with another person or against them at the same time. Each round lasts about 1.5 minutes.
A little tricky to set up but fun to play!

My son's, ages 3 and 9, were really excited about Johnny the Skull game! Once we got it set up it was a little unclear on how to (and if) it was activated each round, so a parent needed to step in every time they want to play a new round. That being said, my 3-year-old loved it and thought it was hilarious and even was able to catch a few ghosts. My 9-year-old enjoyed it once he got the hang of it but was a little frustrated that the rounds weren't longer and that he couldn't set it up on his own. Perfect, however, for Halloween time and my son plans to bring it to school so they could use it in a bigger space than his decent sized bedroom... He's hoping bigger ghosts mean a better score!

This is a good toy for really young kids around 3-4 years old. My kids quickly tired of this activity. My youngest is 5 and on the most difficult setting he was able to blast almost all the ghosts. You need a pretty dark room to see the ghosts well and in a typical bedroom with things on the wall and around the room it’s a little hard to see the Ghosts. We could just look at where the skull was pointing and shot in that direction. It takes 6 batteries which is fine for the gun but I would prefer an electrical outlet for the skull character. The toy was well made but in a house full of toys, this one quickly was left behind.
Great toy for the entire family!!

The visions of Johnny the Skull is a such a great game that keeps an entire family happy and provides lots of smiles. This little skull is pack with lots of fun that as simple as it may look is entertaining and gets the kids away from electronics from a good amount of time. When we first got it home and start unpacking it we were a little disappointed that it didn’t come with batteries, I guess it was our fault for not reading the bottom of the box, this is the only part where it lets you know batteries are not included, honestly I feel like this should be on the front or at least the back of it, and to top it all off you need 2 different size batteries, AA and AAA, after a trip to the store everything went amazing with how easy it is to start playing. Johnny has an on/off button by his left side foot, after that you pick the level you want to play, 1, 2 or 3, this buttons are on his feet, very easy to push, and I love how they blend. After picking the level Johnny moves his head around an projects ghosts that you need to eliminate using the controller, ghosts will make a sound when they appear and another sound when the player actually destroys them. There is a competitive side to it because at the end of each round the controller lets you know how many ghosts you got and the percentage, love this because we all try to be the best at the game. Ghost appear on the walls and ceilings, never on the floor, I must mention, the ghost projections are of great quality they look very clear, this makes it very easy to see them while playing. Must play in a room with little light, we do it in an almost dark room. Because Johnny and the controller are on the small size it makes it easy to take it on vacations, also, the controller is comfortable for small and big hands. Johnny is very nice looking, a little scary but not creepy, this is good because of the little ones might get scare, but not with this toy. We really love this game and enjoy it very much as a family, we do recommend it, great for all ages!!!

This is really fun!!! We have a 9, 5 and 3 year old they were all able to participate. It’s easy to use not hard to operate at all. It keep score for you and says it out loud at end of every play. The ghosts are really bright and appear well on the wall as well as out couch! I would recommend for a nice evening.

My six-year-old daughter and her friends enjoy playing this game. My daughter likes it because it protects the ghosts on the walls and ceilings. In addition, my daughter gets a lot of exercise running around collecting phantoms. It's fun to play this game with her at night, especially when it's dark. Fun is what it's all about. The gameplay is random, so the boat projects images randomly to the wall. The scope is responsible for capturing the ghost. The score goes to the person who strikes the projected ghost image on the wall & at the end of the game, you will hear a coin sounds to let you know it is over. I highly recommend this product.
Fun spooky game!

My grandkids are having so much fun with this game. They can't wait until it gets dark to play. The skull projects a ghost and you have to shoot the ghosts with the gun before they disappear. You have to shoot as many as you can in 90 seconds or so. Then the gun will tell you what your score is. It's for two players but can be played alone. It has three different difficulty levels. Lots of fun for the kids and it also has sound effects. A great toy especially around Halloween.
We love the Johnny the skull
