I really enjoyed this book. Many of the content topics were not new to me, and it felt like a centering book for me. Getting back to my roots. I appreciate hearing of moms that have “gone before me”. The author packs in lots of wisdom, what has and has not worked for her family. It was like having a mom mentor, meeting up, having conversations, working on keeping our families healthy. I look forward to trying some of the recipes included as well!

The Whole and Healthy Family by Jodi Mockabee is a honest, helpful, and relatable parenting book that will 100% encourage and grow your family. Jodi beautifully puts on paper so many thoughts I have thought but didn’t have words for. It was affirming to read this book. Reminding me that our family is not alone on this journey! It’s my new go to for family life and the book I will be giving all new parents and young families going forward.

I have followed Jodie on instagram for years. My little family is about 10 years behind Jodie’s and her posts have been a constant source of encouragement for me as I struggle through the ‘trenches’ as she endearingly calls those little years. Jodie has seemed like a kindred spirit as I have watched her through the screen over the last years and I have so enjoyed this peak into her heart and what has motivated her parenting decisions. I was so delighted with how much scripture and practical information she included in the book. It is such a good balance of truth and ideology coupled with practical wisdom that can only come from years of walking the walk. “Educating the Whole Hearted Child” by Clay and Sally Clarkson has been a manual of mine as I enter the homeschooling years and this book reminds me of it. However I this book does such a good job filling in the gap of the rest of your life! School is not the end all be all in our homes, we are aiming for so much more than that and I love how this book directly applies to relationships, food, health and nature that will so balance out our days. And apply regardless of how my children are educated! Thanks Jodie!

The Whole & Healthy Family is full of encouragement for parents. I loved how the author divided the book into three parts: mind, body & spirit, and expanded with practical advice and examples in each section. I finished this book inspired and eager to implement some of Jodi’s ideas into my family’s life. Beautifully written and easy to read!

This book was exactly what i needed in this season of parenting. It felt like I was sitting down for coffee with someone just a little bit ahead of the parenting journey than me. She shared real, humble, practical suggestions from what she has learned along the way, and I walked away with beautiful ideas to implement in my home. Couldn’t put this one down, and am recommending to all of my friends whether they homeschool or not!

I know raising a family doesn’t come with an instruction manual, but this book comes pretty close. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for practical ways to raise a family in the ways of the Lord. The author makes the reader connect through personal first hand experiences and brings it down to practical ways. I love that I learned just about everything, from routines to healthy cooking, to spiritual growth. This book is a must have for all my momma friends!

Love love love! As soon as I saw Jodi Mockabee was writing a book I couldn’t wait to read it. I loved the simplicity and wisdom in her Notebooking Manual and figured whatever she wrote would be full of goodness….and I wasn’t wrong. Reading The Whole and Healthy Family felt like sitting down with a friend/mentor to coffee and having her pour out nuggets of wisdom addressing every area of family life. It all just felt very relatable. Inviting me into a healthier more peaceful way and actually providing practical tips to growing there. Definitely glad I bought this one. Reading it again….right after I go purge some of the clutter in our home and on our calendar!

This book is such a breath of fresh air in the Christian parenting/family culture genre. For the first time it doesn't address vague aspects of parenting that seem to be in every parenting book you come across, instead its overflowing with wisdom and fresh ideas in areas no one ever seems to discuss. I love the mind, body and spirit approach to Jodi's book. I have 5 kids myself and find this book to be a fresh perspective on raising a Christian family. You can glean from its wisdom whether you just found out you were pregnant with your first or if your like me 11 years into parenting. Highly recommend for both mom and dad to read!

Jodi begins by speaking to the importance of a good relationship between husband and wife as the foundation of a healthy family. I found this very encouraging! She also gives well-written examples of how being in nature and simplifying the home environment has benefited her family, along with practical tips to help you in your parenting journey. This is a book I will keep and reread, but at the same time I want to share with all my friends!

Jodi’s new book immediately grabbed my attention. Her writing is candid, thoughtful, and empowering. I enjoyed her sharing what has worked best for her family but that she didn't shy away from areas where they have faced challenges. She encourages the reader to dig deeper into topics and notes other sources that have helped guide her family's choices over the years. As a mother of four, I can relate to her desire to get to the root of an obstacle. We all go through seasons of challenge, but being informed is a powerful feeling. I found myself nodding in agreement and making quick notes on nearly every page. I look forward to referencing this book over the years!

Well done Jodi!

As a mother of four young children, I am always looking for ways to be inspired as a parent. Jodi has broken this book into three sections - Mind, Body and Spirit, showing how her and her husband have created their own family culture with their five children. Loved reading this book and loved connecting with the Author as we have very similar viewpoints.

This book was such an encouragement to me as a mother of three. As I was reading, there were so many ‘aha’ moments and times when I felt that the author was speaking directly to me. Some of the behavioral characteristics, for example, which she describes in detail about one of her children resonated so much with me as I am in the weeds with one of my own. Because of her very personal and raw account of her own struggles and victories in parenting, I have been able to already apply what I have learned in practice in my own family. I love the practicality and straightforwardness of this book. There was absolutely no “fluff”. Every paragraph has purpose. Highly recommend.

The book I didn’t think I needed! Jodi has a way of making you feel like you are sitting with her over a cup of coffee. Brainstorming together while also giving helpful tips, tools, and guidance of what it look is like to build your family legacy. I devoured this book in 3 days (between naps, bedtime and sneaking pages here and there) A must read!

I think this book is an absolute delight to read. Jodi Mockabee mixes personal anecdotes, passion, humor, and practical tips in just the right proportions for my taste. It’s an easy read and is helpfully broken into three main sections: Mind, Body, and Spirit. I appreciate that the author has done her research while sharing what has been successful in her own family, rather than just doling out baseless opinions. I like how she sprinkles book recommendations for further reading and cites numerous studies/articles as well for those of us who want to further research various topics presented throughout the book. I feel inspired to try new things, motivated to buckle down in other areas, and encouraged to step it up to really help my family grow deeper in faith. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to strengthen their family.

A brand new book from Jodi of her experience and strategies in raising a family in a whole and healthy way! Broken up into 3 sections, Jodi addresses 3 main areas (mind, body and spirit) to focus on, that help foster wellness for ones whole self. The strategies are applicable to all family types, backgrounds, knowledge and ability to execute. Jodi does not consider herself a guru, and her way the only way, rather she strongly encourages you to do your own research and come to a conclusion that will best suit your family. Mixed with further reading suggestions, scripture and practical suggestions this book is a wealth of knowledge.
