Works fantastic on mosquitos and sandflies
I've used our thermacell products (we have both types) in areas with tons of mosquitos (north Idaho) and outdoors in the summer. You can literally see a wall of mosquitos just at the edges of coverage but within - nothing. We even took it to the south island of New Zealand to help with the sandflies. It was amazing. Highly recommend these products.

Effective
Noticeable reduction in # of mosquitoes, especially if you allow it to run for about 15 minutes before you need it. It won't eliminate 100% of the buggers, but it's a big help.

Refills
It worked great hoping my refills will be okay in my RV as I use this product only when we travel in our RV I have no problem with mosquitoes where we live.

I was skeptical but wow it works!
First off I almost never give reviews so the fact that I am writing, says this is great enough that I’m making the effort. Secondly I’m the type who believes zero advertising claims but am willing to give things a shot when, like w/this, independent reviewers (NYT Wirecutter iirc) give a thumbs up. And wow, I put this baby on the table on the patio and got zero bites—I’m a mosquito magnet but we didn’t even see a bug all evening. I’m a convert!

Not working Unfortunately
We have the small body units (2) and the larger unit for the patio. Doesnt seem to dissuade them from eating us. We have just ordered another type unit that is suppose to attract and kill them. It is so sad to be unable to enjoy the outside when it is beautiful out there!

Essential from the backwoods to the backyard
Nothing beats my Thermacell when the mosquitoes start coming out. They vanish in minutes and don’t return until I turn the device off. It is so easy and practical. I keep my refill stash full for the season! Great technology for use in camping and hanging out in the backyard, the park or anywhere there are mosquitoes.

Works but Repellant cartridge doesn't last
After my initial one, thought something was wrong so with replacement cartridge, I timed it each evening. Basically, its all gone in 6-8 hours, nowhere near the stated time. This makes it impractical to use on an ongoing basis from a cost perspective.

Five star repellent, zero star environmentally
As a repellent, I have found the Thermacell very effective, however the liquid in the cartridges evaporates quickly, without use, and the plastic cartridge waste is absurd in this day and age. Recycling is not the answer, refilling is.

Refill, lost all the liquide in storage
I took my machine to use it and saw that all the liquide in the machine (refill) is lost. And I have a friend that the same happen….. at the cost of the refill is …. This is crazy

Works great. Hate the throwaway plastic.
This is very effective, but I use it sparingly because I hate throwing the empty cartridges in the trash. We just don't need more plastic waste, and it would seem that these cartridges could be easily refilled. I'd happily pay for bulk refill liquid and whatever refill apparatus if any is required. From me personally, your revenues would increase (I'd use it much more often) and your company would get some well justified environmental cred.

Worsening quality
The quality of the refills has diminished since I purchased this product over a year ago. It is still effective, however, in no way does it last as long as they advertise. Recently, it has not lasted half as long. I’m not sure if there has been a change in the solution but it is not what it used to be in duration. The refills are definitely overpriced. In addition, there should be a bottle to refill cartridges with in order to throw away less plastic. Thermacell can do better.

Awful, defective product
I was never even able to use the product, because it is so defective and poorly made. Before I could even use it the first time, it turned on while charging and the entire cartridge was spent in my bedroom. I bought a second refill, and the entire thing leaked all over my bag (which contained only sweaters, nothing hard or sharp that could have broken anything, and I kept it in the original box to ensure no damage). Don’t waste your money - you won’t even be able to use the product.

Throw away refills, really !!!
HI, just purchased your product which works very well.... BUt I am very disappointed with the fact that you have a heavy plastic throw away refill cartrige system. should I have lnow this, I will not have purchased. In these times where plastic polutions is really a major wordwide problem. a simple solution would be to sell a bottle of your repelent which would be used to fill the cartridge , and not throw away the cartrige every time..! common guys really !!

Currently, all new packaging is created with 80-100% post-consumer content and repellent cartridges in our rechargeable platform uses 68% less plastic on a per hour basis compared to earlier products. This is a great start, but we realize we still have some work to do to reach our sustainability goal. As a company we are actively researching recycling solutions, and understand the importance of achieving this goal not only for our company but for the environment.
