  • A: Hi Ray, In accordance with safety standards, Thermacell Rechargeable Battery-Powered products should not be operated while plugged in or charging. The charging circuit disables when the battery is full. Leaving the repeller plugged in and it is fully charged, it will not increase the battery life or run time. Therefore, Thermacell does recommend that you unplug the repeller during extended times of non-use (longer than 2 months).

    Super cool

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this mosquito repellent. No spray, no smell, and it actually works. I turn it on, wait a few minutes, and mosquitos are gone. It’s rechargeable, easy to use, and perfect for dinners outside, the patio, or traveling. I don’t go outdoors at night without it anymore.

    It really works!

    Used it in Malaysia for 4 weeks as I like to sit on the verandah of mum’s house to read. It was previously impossible to escape the mosquito bites despite lavish application of mosquito repellant. Almost tempted to use it indoors as the mats resemble the ones used by locals in the indoor units sold over there.

    Absolutely recommend

    Very pleased with this purchase. Does a good job of keeping the mosquitos at bay. Able to enjoy a nice scratch free evening on the deck! Had previously used another Thermacell product - this one is so much easier and looks great!

    Easy to use

    This device is so easy to use. There is no odor, the range is perfect for 2-4 people at a table. You may want 2 of them if you are covering more area. Best of all it repels those wicked no-see-ums in Florida. We love this device.

    This works!!

    I bought mine for when have a cigar. It's supposed to be a relaxing, stress relieving experience but mosquitoes can really put a damper on it. From the moment I turned on my Thermacell I have been able to enjoy my cigars bug free. This actually works with no odors or maintenance. Thank you!!

    Too good to be true

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seemed like a great idea. Charges fast, looks sleek, it’s small, battery lasts (I had it going for 3-4hrs without a problem), doesn’t seem to smell like anything. As the video show, it’s a very minimal amount of vapor that comes out that you can hardly see. I thought it worked the first day because not even the flies would come near it. However the second day, I got bit by mosquitoes. I can say there were less mosquitoes, but one was enough to do the damage. It would come inches away from the repeller without a care. I tried moving away, closer, nothing. My feet were less than a foot away and the mosquito was on one of them. I will have to go back to lighting my smelly coils.

    Impressed!

    I purchased Thermacell rechargeable unit on a recommendation of a family member. I was hoping that it would at least reduce the amount of mosquitoes we had to deal with. I was pleasantly surprised when after about 20 minutes after turning it on our 10 X 16 covered deck was free from all mosquitoes. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.
