Q: If the battery is not entirely consumed, would you able to plug in the charging cable directly into the repeller or charging dock to continue using the unit or would you have to stop using the devic to recharge it?

  • A: Hi Courtney, In accordance with safety standards, Thermacell Rechargeable Battery-Powered products should not be operated while plugged in or charging. The charging circuit disables when the battery is full. Leaving the repeller plugged in and it is fully charged, it will not increase the battery life or run time. Therefore, Thermacell does recommend that you unplug the repeller during extended times of non-use (longer than 2 months).

The science and data on our ingredients indicate that they should not be of concern, if used according to label instructions, for people or pets.     I was skeptical...

    But I used it to cook campfire chili at a retreat I went to where the mosquitoes were thick. I did not get bit one time, and I didn'thave to cover myself in bug spray while I was cooking! It was awesome!

    Doesn't run very long on the rechargeable batteries

    It seems like the rechargeable batteries run down very fast and I am constantly plugging into the charging cable. I am thinking it may not work much longer as I will have to keep the cable charger plugged in while I'm outside. Maybe I should just return it and request a new one.

    Simple setup

    I don't care that it's rechargeable. I ordered my older thermal cell that used butane. This works alright. Refill cartridges are definitely more expensive. But overall it's simple to use. Still need to wear mosquito repellent.

    Great coverage when it actually works!

    When this charger actually works, it's great but there always seems to be a problem with it not charging or needing to be refreshed. It is allot of time consuming frustrating problems and I can't deal with it anymore. It would be great if you just plug it in and turn it on and not have to change outlets or read instructions all the time. Done!

    Bug repellent

    The thermacell is awesome. We turn it on in about 10 minutes we can set comfortably in the yard or anywhere we need to keep the bugs away.
