Q: I bought this item because the light setting states, "3-Way (Low Medium High)," making me believe there is 3 light modes for the lamp. I assembled it, but cant manage these modes. Is this false?

A: WRONG. I bought this 2 mos. ago & mine REQUIRES a 3-way bulb, per lang. on carton. The knob clicks 4 times: the 3 bulb settings and OFF. Target probly used to sell one (same SKU) that wasn't 3-way.

A: You need a 3-way bulb for the 3 modes to work. It'll still work with a regular bulb, but you'll just have to turn the rotary switch twice each time you want to turn it on or off.

The lamp should be set to the “on” position so the smart plug can control power safely.

Upon assembly, the first pole would not connect to the base because grooving was crooked/askew. It was impossible to tighten. We had to return it. I’m ordering another one to see if there will be no defect this time.

First, the price is right and it’s easy to assemble. Secondly, this is the third lamp in this design that I’ve bought. I can’t handle overhead lights that shine down most likely due to being a migraine sufferer. What color walls do you have? Why are there so many brown and black electrical cords. I wish I could state to the creative design team to sell lamps with white cords. I still stand with a 5 star rating. I also use a single strength bulb vs a 3 way bulb with no issue of a fire, by law the warning is on the shade. I have 2 in gray and one in black to match decor, I’m very pleased.

Poor quality
I expected these to be cheap. But both lamps were poor quality. One of the threads was so lopsided it wouldn't assemble. My husband had to break the weld for us to get it together well enough to function. The other had scratches all over the base. We got these for a construction project, and the lights work - hence the 2 stars, but if I got these for my home or dorm room I'd be highly unhappy. Wish I'd bought thrift store lamps for less and made it work instead.
