A Must Read!!

Twilight Tactics is another fantastic suspense novel from Lynette Eason. The story kept me engaged from beginning to end with plenty of action, unexpected twists, and characters I genuinely cared about. I also appreciated how faith was woven naturally into the story. If you enjoy Christian suspense, this is definitely a book worth reading! *The publisher provided me with a complimentary copy of *this book. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Thrilling Christian Suspense

A teenage witness to a murder. FBI Special Agents in charge of protecting her. Safeway houses that are compromised. Is there a leak at the Agency? In this thrilling new story from Lynette Eason, a terrifying car chase was only the beginning of this riveting adventure. High-tech surveillance, bomb-sniffing dogs, and mob-related activities kept me turning the pages and often scratching my head. Every time I thought I knew the culprit, an unexpected twist would alter the scenario! Eason excels in creating extraordinary characters, realistic emotions, and inspiring messages of faith, but she never forgets the romance! Their efforts to help Ollie are the beginning of a tantalizing relationship between Sully and Elena. Friendship built on trust that slowly evolves into something even more special. Clean, heartwarming, but totally swoon-worthy romance! If you enjoy riveting Christian suspense, you will absolutely love Twilight Tactics! This action-packed, intriguing read kicks off the Soldiers in Shadows series. It hits the ground running with a high-speed car chase as FBI agents Sully and Piper and fourteen-year-old mob hit witness Ollie, who is under their protection, are headed for the Broken Chains Ranch. The suspense and high stakes danger keeps building to the end with unexpected twists that kept me reading and guessing! The prepper cult connection to Elena, survival expert and instructor at the ranch, adds to the intrigue and complexity of the plot as does Sully and Elena's developing romantic relationship. I appreciate the gentle faith thread with reminders of God's grace and the importance of relying on Him no matter how dire the circumstances. I totally enjoyed this book and heartily recommend it. Action packed

Action packed from the start! FBI agents Sully and Piper are protecting a 14 year old girl, Ollie, who witnessed a mob hit. All of their safe houses are being blown so they head to Broken Chains Ranch, a place for veterans to heal, that Sully has ties with it. While there they meet Elena, who has left a prepper cult (basically anti-government, survival group), unfortunately the cult shares a border with the ranch. There are major twists and turns and high stakes danger throughout and a romance between Sully and Elena. The theme that resonates throughout the story is God's grace and relying on Him to get you through every situation. This is the first book in the new series, Soldiers in Shadows.

Crackles with Tension, Filled with Secrets and Lies

Twilight Tactics is the kind of book that I didn’t want to put down, but because of the intensity of the suspense and the danger that surrounded so many of the characters, I found myself just taking short breaks to ponder what I had just read and to try to guess what I thought would happen next. The plot is complicated, with a ranch that is serves as a haven for those who need a respite from life. It is appropriately named the Broken Chains Ranch. Everything there seems very peaceful for the owners and the veterans who reside there until Sully and Piper come with teen-aged Ollie, a witness to a murder whom they have to keep safe until she can testify. Ollie is precocious, proactive and one of those teens that you don’t want to be in charge of because she isn’t an easy client. But I loved her character and all of her believable flaws! In fact, I loved all of the characters and felt as though the author portrayed them all in a way that I could picture them in my mind. The plot was extremely fast paced and had a lot of twists along the way as the author covered subplots with the mob, preppers, the ranch and all who lived there, local law enforcement and relevant high tech like drones and jammers that cut off communication. Just when I was thinking that one more that could not go wrong for Sully and his team, another red herring fooled me. This is a tightly written plot that crackles with tension from beginning to end, with good chemistry between the characters and a sweet portrayal of a developing romance even in the midst of all of the danger. Filled with suspense and abundant secrets and lies, this is one of the best romantic suspense books I have ever read, with the emphasis on suspense. This is an edgy page turner that offers a strong message of forgiveness, hope and redemption which are all cleverly wrapped into the plot. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own.

God orchestrated it all!

It was almost as if danger was just waiting to pounce. FBI agents Sully and his partner, Piper are responsible for a young murder witness, Ollie. Unfortunately several safe houses have been breached bringing them to Broken Chains Ranch, a place of healing and renewed possibility for former military heroes and others. The owner, Mara, is a doctor and Elena is a former military nurse. There are therapists available to help those living there deal with PTSD and other challenges. All this set in the serene setting of trees, horses and peace. This serenity is shattered with the perimeter fence being cut, intruders, drones, shots fired and more. Have they been found yet again or is there a mole somewhere in the FBI? Welcome to Soldiers in Shadows, the new series that is sure to keep you guessing on the edge of your seat!
