READ THE BOOK FIRST.

Hollywood did a great job portraying this book. But by reading the book you connect so much more with Louis knowing his thoughts and emotions. Also, there's more to the story after the movie ends. I believe Hollywood cut out the best part of the story. The story of how Louis became who he was post war. Regardless, watch the movie.
