Captivating Debut Novel!

History was one of my favorite subjects in school so it's no surprise that historical fiction is now one of my preferred genres! This new book is set during WWII, one of my favorite eras, but I wasn't familiar with the efforts to save the Arabian horses that were in danger of being destroyed after the German invasion of Poland. Author Nicole M. Miller weaves facts with fiction and the result is a breathtaking adventure that kept me completely mesmerized. Adia Kensington was passionate about saving those precious horses and Bret Conway was just as determined to gather intelligence for the British. I adored the protective love that Aida had for a young Polish orphan named Ewan and I was captivated by her unlikely friendship with Bret. Watching their relationship grow and deepen was swoon-worthy romance at its best! This amazing story spans seven years and it reminds us that World War II was a time when ordinary citizens became extraordinary heroes, danger was ever present, and tremendous sacrifices were the norm. Until Our Times Comes is a wonderful read for horse lovers, history lovers, and lovers of romance. It's a remarkable debut novel and I look forward to seeing what this author shares in the future! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via Revell Reads. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Until Our Time Comes is the first book I have read written by Nicole M. Miller. It was an easy read, rich in vocabulary and history. It has been a moment since I have read anything set during WWII and it was such a pleasure going back to one of my favorite time periods. The character development was great. I loved getting to know Adia. Her kind heartedness towards the little orphan boy, Ewan., and her love for horses drew me right in. Bret being part of the British intelligence was the perfect combination for a novel. Spies, war, horses and romance, mixed with some great character development is enough to hook me in. The setting was great. I enjoyed immersing myself in Poland during WWII. I enjoyed envisioning it all unfold. I have not personally read a lot of books set in Poland, so it was fun to visit. Europe is always a favorite book setting for my imagination. The historical element was great. As I have already said, one of my favorite time periods, so I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about it. The romance aspect was pretty good. Nothing to over the top. Kissing but nothing over the top. I appreciated the balance. The Christian element was a little light, but still present. Point us to God in times of need and praying. *I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.

Until Our Time Comes by Nicole M. Miller is a novel of World War II in Poland. This historical fiction romance novel shares the amazing story of American horse trainer, Adia, who is very skilled with horses. Adia is amazing working with Arabian horses, training them, breeding them and caring for them. Bret has literally bumped into Adia but cannot connect with her. His work as an undercover agent gathering intelligence for Britain suddenly takes him away. Some time later Bret returns and instantly connects with Adia. Over time, Bret and Adia, along with many others risk their lives not just for each other, but for many families as well as their beloved horses. I was amazed at the story of Until Our Time Comes. This book will definitely captivate horse lovers, however, I was surprised at how it also captivated the general reader. Following Adia and Bret's adventures enlightens the reader to no only some of the history of World War II but also the significance and importance of saving the spectacular Arabian horses. Readers will enjoy following along on their adventures and anticipating how the tale will end. I throughly enjoyed Until Our Time Comes by Nicole Miller.

Adia's dreams have come true when she goes to Poland to work with the famous horses at the Janów stables. It is the late 1930's, and despite the winds of war closing in, she has refused to leave because she wants to protect these great animals. When her path crosses that of Bret, he is instantly enamored with her, and asks her out. Secretly, he is a British spy, and he gets hurt on a mission that results with Adia being stood up. She vows she will never be taken in by him again. So, when Bret comes to work at the Janów stables, Adia wants little to do with him--at first. Faster than anyone can imagine, Russian troops march into Poland. They make life a nightmare for both the horses, and the humans. They are replaced by German troops, whose leader promises Adia that he plans to take good care of the horses, and she has nothing to fear, if she does her job. Because Bret has a history with the officer, it is no longer safe for him at Janów. Danger is on every side for Adia. She often faces death while she takes chances to help the allies, hide children, and keep the horses safe. This is a thrilling story, never knowing who can be trusted. Many of the things in this tale are based on real events. This exciting and clean five-star book will appeal to fans of World War II accounts, and well-written stories. Thank you, Library Thing, for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.

This was an exquisite read! This author is new to me, but I'm so glad I gave her book a try. The cover was lovely, and the story was so well-written, with a host of great characters and an interesting plot. Adia was a great equestrian, and a character that made you feel like cheering her on. I loved the spy elements in this book as well. Until Our Time Comes is a new WWII favorite read that I plan to purchase in paperback and add to my personal library. If you liked Sarah Sundin's latest book, "The Sound of Light", you'd probably love this tale just as much as I did! I read this as a e-book my brother lent me, and was not required to write a review. The thoughts above are my own.
