Valvoline has been around for a long time, and that history gives me more confidence in their products compared to some newer or lesser-known brands in the same price range. I’ll be paying close attention to how my car runs with this oil, but so far, it seems promising. If performance holds up, it might just earn a full 5 out of 5 from me.

I have had my Honda Accord EX-L since buying it new in 2016. It has the K24 4-cylinder engine which has been bulletproof, other than it has burnt oil the entire time I have owned it. I am 3,100 miles into the first oil change with Restore and Protect 5W30, and the oil consumption issue has already been reduced significantly. The unexpected thing I have also noticed is how quiet and smooth the engine sounds, especially when idling at a stop light. Also, my MPG has increased by 2-3 miles per gallon. I will be switching all my other cars to Valvoline Restore and Protect. Try it and see for yourself. It does take time to work, so don’t expect miracles within the first few miles. It is not an engine flush.

It's got some good stuff in it to clean out the engine and keep it running smoothly, especially if your car's got a few miles on it. Plus, it helps stop leaks, which is always a win.

At 54000 miles, I had my dealer's synthetic tested at 6000 miles, and it tested well. But some Telluride's have had engine problems, so I decided to try Restore and Protect. Each oil change with Restore and Protect were cleaning more than the dealer oil, proving to me even an oil that tested well wasn't enough. Anyone with a direct injection engine 2021 and earlier probably used oil that wasn't up to the issues that direct injection causes. (Toyota and a few other manufacturers use two injection systems and may not have this issue as much.)

Good stuff! To the guy who used a borescope…what year, make and model, and how many miles? Your photographed cylinder bore looks new like it still has the factory cross hatching. Perhaps it cleaned to the point where you can see the pattern whereas before you could not. Oil consumption is not only due to ring/cylinder wear. Keep it topped up and report back in a hundred thousand miles!

I had my 2010 Toyota Camry, with the 2AR-FE engine, oil changed to Valvoline R&P 0W-20 about 4 weeks ago. Before using Valvoline R&P, I had my synthetic oil changed at a Toyota dealership between 6000 and 8000 km intervals. About 3 months ago, the car start burning oil... about one liter every 2000km. Prior to that time, I did not need to add oil between oil changes. I have just completed 2000 km on my car and the oil consumption has been reduced to about half a liter per 2000 km. The car engine is also a lot quieter. The oil is not that dark as I have had this car serviced on a regular basis. I plan to have the oil and filter changed at about 4000/5000 km which is about 2500/3100 miles depending on how dark the oil gets. I am pleased with this product so far. I hope this product will be sold in Canada soon. I had somebody buy this product for me in the USA. I would also like to see a 0W-30 grade.

I’ve been using Valvoline oil but when this restore and protect came out I gave it a try and I’m on my 2nd oil change with it my car a 2017 Honda CRV drive smooth and quiet. I’ll drive to Vegas in July and see how it performs in the heat. I also use Valvoline CVT transmission fluid now and it’s been great! Can’t go wrong with these products! Highly recommend!

Before I started using Restore and Protect I did a lot of research on it. Then I went to the lubricant pro on YouTube “The Oil Geek”. He went on a tour of the Valvoline facility specifically for this oil and the results were astounding. I also followed some YouTube videos regarding Restore and Protect from just your regular DIYers and their results were amazing. I’m on my 3rd oil change and this oil is exactly as advertised. I drive a 2014 Ford F250 4X4 with the 6.2L V-8 gasoline engine. My performance has improved significantly as well as my mileage.
