A: No, this rug will not shed, as it is a nylon, machine woven rug. Rugs that are known to shed are wool, hand tufted, which this rug is not.

Q: Is this safe to vacuum? I have had mine for less than one week and it's showing some unraveling already. Is this defective?

A: I bought 4 of these rugs before Thanksgiving. Every time I vacuum, there are big balls of fluff in the tank. At first, I thought this was only because the rugs were new and were shedding loose surface fiber, but we are now into the second week of Jan. and they are still 'shedding'; they also look worn down and feel thinner. I have a small lightweight vac that I have used on the bare floor setting, only occasionally the carpet setting, but these rugs haven't taken a beating by any means. I have purchased cheap rugs in the past that didn't shed like these.

A: Yes, it can, but be aware that the color will fade. I bought the small rug in gray for my kitchen befit is machine washable. After several washes, it is quite faded.

Q: can I use scotchguard for rugs on my rug?

A: According to Scotchgard’s website, Scotchgard Rug & Carpet Protector can be used on polypropylene and nylon, which is what this rug is made of, so it should be safe to use, however, we have not tested Scotchgard on our rugs and cannot say with certainty if it is safe. Scotchgard recommends testing a hidden area for colorfastness. If color rubs off, they suggest not to use.

Do not buy this rug! It smells HORRIBLE!! Like a mix of strong chemicals and urine. I should have read the other reviews before I purchased as this seems to be a common issue. It’s definitely the rubber backing of the carpet that is smell is coming from. Had it for a week thinking the smell would dissipate but it has only gotten stronger. On top of it, it was shipped without any packaging or wrapping… just raw exposed carpet during transit. Very disappointed. Returned.

I bought this rug early spring offline and it had a terrible smell and it lingered for about a month. despite the smell, i absolutely loved this rug. I have 2 dogs and was worried it would look dirty after a little while, but with it being it off-white and warm tones it looked great! my dogs ended up going to the bathroom on it (beyond cleanable) so I threw it away. I bought a washable rug, but hated it. I repurchase this rug! I bought it in store and it didn't have that weird smell from online. overall, I think this rug it perfect and despite my dogs accidents, it's been easy to clean and maintain!

APerfect neutral color. In store it looked like it had almost gold/mustard in it, but once it was in my space it looked very neutral. Other people said they noticed a smell, but I bought mine in store and didn’t smell anything on mine. It’s soft and lays flat right away.

I purchased this rug just over a year ago for a rarely used TV room. It has been fine but over the past month I started noticing a strong and odd odor as soon as I walked into the room. I washed curtains, the slipcover on my couch, used Febreeze, and finally came to the conclusion it is the rug that smells. This is a room that is only used a handful of times each month and the rug has never been spilled on. The room does get a lot of afternoon sunlight but I don't know if that is a contributing factor. Regardless, I am throwing it out because I just cannot get past the horrible smell.
