Q: Do you need to buy the ink separately as the reviews suggest that there is NO INK in the ink pad?
submitted by Alicia - 1 month ago
A: Yes - buy ink separately what comes with it that looks like ink is actually a cleaning sponge.
submitted byKaren - 27 days agoA: Hi Alicia - Thank you for your interest in the Vintage Style Roller Date Stamp. Ink needs to be bought separately. Happy shopping! - Emma

Poor quality
Defective. Impossible to change some of the numbers and there are numbers that are imprinted incorrectly. The worst was that the 0 in the year was imprinted wrong. So anything you want to stamp for the next 75 years would have a bad 0.

Inkless ink pad, numbers not legible
If you want a paperweight this might be for you. I wanted the satisfaction of stamping a legible date on things. Joke’s on me. First of all, there’s no ink in the ‘ink pad’. I tried adding ink I had around the house. The numbers bleed and are barely legible. It could be that my ink is too runny. Or it could be that the stamp is crap. No instructions on what type of ink to add. Now I’m supposed to figure out where to buy special ink??!!! I’m hoping they will let me return this even though I opened it.

No INK on pad. Not mentioned on box!
Purchased in store and the box does NOT state that the ink pad has no ink. It should have been written on the box. It is still cute!

Perplexed and charmed
I am baffled-why would you sell a stamp and include an INKLESS pad? Moreover, I read the packaging and there is NO mention of the pad being ink-free. I’m just confused as to why: a) the pad would be included w/o ink in the first place and b) if you are going to be ink-less, fine, but state it on the packaging. And c) if it’s a money grab, just sell me the ink in a cute package next to the stamp display? The stamp itself is everything everyone else has noted: beautiful, has a nice feel, and is a charming addition to a workspace. @Target, what ink do I need for this?

Cute vintage style item, ink not included
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because it looks really neat and has a lot of vintage charm! The stamp itself is very solidly made and has a good weight to it. I didn’t read the product description before purchasing so I did not realize that the included stamp pad did not come with any ink. I had to test the stamp out with another ink pad I had on hand so the results weren’t great. I’ll probably have to play around with different inks. And I wasn’t exactly sure the correct way to use the stamp tool included so will have to research more as well. Perhaps I could just use this for decor.

Stamper without the Ink
Cute stamper right? Unless you have ink, don't waste the money. Per the description you would assume it has ink included - nope, just a 'cleaning pad'. Poor advertising and unacceptable packing deception from the brand.

Guess what? You have to buy ink!
The weight of the stamp is really nice but I wish there was more description about the product on the actual packaging…I purchased this IN STORE and the packaging didn’t say it didn’t include ink… It’s so stupid for this to not include ink 😮💨

Great metal stamp wish the ink worked
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this in hopes of using it for the back of photos or under photos in albums. I planned to use it on some clay items I make as well. The stamp and the tool are great heavy metal construction. The numbers spin well when using the tool. I wish the numbers on the stamp sat up a bit higher to make the numbers more clear when stamped. As you can see the 4 doesn’t really show up when stamped. I’m confused by the “ink pad” it isn’t an ink pad. There is no ink. It is just a sponge in a container. I even put water on the sponge thinking it was dry, nope no ink. It would be nice to have permanent light safe ink included. I plan to keep it but will have to buy my own ink.

gorgeous little set
this is such a gorgeous set. regarding people rating this low due to the ink pad not being inked, it’s mentioned in the product details that it is dry and requires inking, which can be found online. i know, i don’t always read details as well. but i wanted to mention because this is an awesome little set! it’s gorgeous and feels heavy. so happy with it, i had to order another for my work desk. highly recommend if you’re into this sort of thing.

It's amazing! Read what is and is not included.
Ignore the bad reviews. Ink isn’t included with the stamp pad. It says it right on the description of what’s included. The stamp itself is fantastic. It has weight and feels super solid. 10/10

Cool stamp, completely dry ink pad
The stamp is cool. The dry ink pad is a real bummer as I discovered the issue after gifting it to my mother. Seems like a production error.

Does not come with ink
The “ink” that comes with this is just a thin sponge-like material. There is no ink.

Get your own ink
Like other reviews mention, the stamp is heavy duty and seems like it’ll be nice, but the ink pad is dry upon opening (these just hit the shelves at the store…)

Love this!
Positive: the roller date stamp is legit! Heavy, brass. Made well. Love that it includes all numbers so you can stamp literally any date. Negative: yeah, the ink pad. Sure, that’s a bummer and misleading BUT I’d have paid the same price for only the roller stamper. A small ink pad is cheap, or use a washable marker. Also can get liquid ink in expensively on amazon and drop it onto the provided (dry) pad. Not a deal breaker at all.

Date Stamp—Unique Gift Idea!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A well packaged and very unique gift! I can tell this is well made. The numbers move easily, but not too easily. So will last a long time. The major downside is this ink pad doesn’t actually have any ink. I think you use this to clean the stamp after stamping on a real ink pad. That is a bummer, since I’d need to get an ink pad to make this usable. So a major heads up there!

no ink
The stamp itself is well made but the ink pad has no ink whatsoever in it. Kinda disappointed about that. not worth the money unless you want just the stamp

Faux Ink, nice stamp
The stamp itself is nice, seems to be made well. The packaging implies that it includes an inked ink pad, but in fact does not. It only states it online in the product description- misleading in my opinion. Not worth the full amount. At least shave off $3/4 the total price to replace the ink pad.

(no review title)
First off the ink pad never even had ink to begin with. You can tell right away. I just bought this today and it was put out on display at my local target today. Luckily for me I have a whole set of ink pads. Not so lucky for others, making it inconvenient for them. It's pretty common sense what the stylus is for, it's to move the date but for someone who is not used this type of stamp it might be confusing for them. I suggest putting instructions, it would help some people. Overall the stamp roller is neat I'm just disappointed that you advertise that it comes with an ink pad. Maybe advertise that it comes with an ink pad that you have to put the ink in yourself.

Elegance to our egg cartons
My daughter said why did you have to buy such a fancy one and I told her to add some class to our eggs.
