Q: Will it harm hardwood floors by discoloring it?

This is a great mat only reason for the four stars is it is nearly impossible to open(no joke) and unroll. Most mats or carpets you unroll and flip upside down to flatten. Not this one. It was like a spring. Constantly rolling back up before we barely got it open. After 45 min we finally got it. Took two people. Had to put a heavy coffee table, heavy cedar chest and a 40 lb bag of rock salt on it and leave it for many hours before we could even flip it for proper unrolling. The very thick plastic that makes this a quality product also makes it heavy and hard to unroll. This will be a great mat once it is flattened.

slides all over the place on my hardwood floor and its too skinny. If it didnt slide so much the skinniness of it wouldnt be as bad of an issue

Hi Billy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that your PVC Advantage mat is sliding on your hard floor and that the mat is skinny. In order to try and prevent the mat from sliding, we would recommend placing thin silicone pads on the underside of the corners and along the mat edges. If movement is still a problem, you could try and place more silicone pads along the edges. However, please ensure the silicone pads are suitable for your flooring type before using. Alternatively, we recommend upgrading to our Polycarbonate Megamat. The Megamat is a much thicker and heavier compared to the PVC Advantage mat. Slippery on tile
Got this one for tile flooring but still slides around a lot. Have had it slide out from under me several times when stepping into it to get to my chair. Considering returning.

We would recommend our Cleartex Unomat which has an Anti-Slip coated backing for added stability on polished floors and some tiles as a long term solution to the sliding the 35x47" is the smallest size and is sold on Target.com under item#FC128920ERA. Alternatively, we recommend using silicone dots on the underside of your existing mat to help it grip the floor surface. Please ensure you test the dots on your floor in a discreet area first to ensure they are compatible with your flooring.
