vivonex pediatric elemental powder is a nutritionally complete, 100% free amino acid formula for tube feeding or oral supplementation designed for children ages 1 to 13 years of age. this unique formula meets the 2011 iom recommendations for calcium and vitamin d; contains calcilock (a blend of essential nutrients to support healthy bone development); and gets 70% of its fat from mct to decrease the potential for fat malabsorption. vivonex pediatric elemental powder provides nutritional support for individuals with severely impaired gi function, severe short bowel syndrome, malabsorption syndrome, gi trauma/surgery, crohns disease, intestinal failure, transition from tpn, or children with burns. it is suitable for lactose-free, gluten-free, low-residue, and kosher diets and for individuals older than 1 year of age, but it is intended for use under medical supervision.
