Vornado 623DC Energy Smart Air Circulator Fan White: Quiet Desk Fan for Rooms, Adjustable Tilt, 100 Speeds, 10" Blade

Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase but downgraded by one star as the end cap seems sloppily placed. (See photo.) I live in hot Texas (now 100 degrees daily in July) and these air circulators keep me from having to use my AC—I only use the AC from 1-6pm. I own 2 of the medium DC circulators and the large will be delivered today. I love the variable speed and the fact these do not use much electricity.

The last time I bought a Varnado fan I was so long ago that I can't remember. However, at that time I purchased three large tornado with infinite speed adjustment and two small fans with three speed settings. All of those Varnado's have been great appliances and lasted many years beyond their warranty. My recent purchase what is therefore based on past performance and I have not been disappointed, I have really been impressed with the quietness of this Varnado Smart Air Circulator. I will continue to purchase Vornado.

Yes, I purchased the American made Vornado fan, because it is just about the only fan still made in the U.S.A. Thank Vornado for their fortitude. Fan is extremely quiet and efficient. Please people in America, buy American made products before it is too late. Wake up! I bought the D.C. current model, very quiet.

Our bedroom is upstairs in an older home and the AC has trouble getting there. This circulator was a great answer. We had many comfortable nights! Thank you.

i don't know how Vornado does it but their fans are better by far than any others i've purchased. Well worth the investment as my first one has lasted and is still working perfectly after 15 years.

I bought this fan to draw cool air from one room into my orchid room. It’s nice and quiet, sits on the ground with good stability and is perfect for my application. The fact that it’s American made is fantastic! Thank you!

Overall I like the 623DC fairly well. I do really like the fan for low to medium high speeds. The variable speed knob on the back of the fan is very nice and offers what I'd consider to be true infinitely variable speed from extremely slow to high speeds. So you should always be able to get exactly the amount of air movement you want. It is very quite at low and medium speed and I do not hear any squealing or odd dc adapter sounds from the power adapter or fan. The fan looks and feels like a good quality built product that I hope will last. I'm maybe a little disappointed with the power adapter DC cable. It's feels pretty thin and cheap, and I hope the wires in that little cable don't cause problems or fail. The rest of the fan seems pretty good quality. But I could see this being the item that prevents this fan from lasting 20 years like the older Vornado fan from a couple decades ago would. At higher speeds when you really want a lot of air flow, the fan makes more wind noise than I might have expected from a 170 dollar fan. I guess I'd hoped Vornado might have done a little more engineering to help their fans move more air with less turbulent wind noise at high speed/volume. It's not moving near as much air as a furnace blower, but I've had furnace blower squirrel cage fans that I use in my shop and move a LOT more air, that aren't as turbulent/windy sounding as this DC623 on full speed. The primary reason I bought this is I'm counting on it last for at least a decade (the 10 year warranty) and I like that it's made/assembled locally to me in Kansas with some components built by industries in my home town.

I got this to replace a fixed-speed fan to circulate air up a set of stairs to help keep the house from getting too stagnant. This fan is quieter at all speeds than the competitor it replaced, and the ‘infinite’ adjustability of angle helps keep air pointed up the stairs instead of into them. The only part I find disappointing is that there’s a power brick instead of having an integrated power supply. I definitely recommend it anyway.

We already own four other Vornado fans, the oldest one being over 30 years old and still running. We needed a fan to run when we have a power outage but are waiting to see if we need to start up the generator or not. Many such outages last 5 hours or less, but in summer in NC, that can be brutal. We have a couple of Ryobi invertors that take Ryobi tool batteries and convert the stored power to AC. This Smart Energy fan is so efficient that with a standard tool battery (4Ah), it will run on the highest setting (very powerful!) for 1.5hrs, and on the middle setting for almost 10 hours. Even on a half-size battery (1.5Ah), it will run almost 3 hours on the middle setting. Both are excellent runtimes and help bridge the power-out gap until we know for sure whether it is time to pull out the old portable generator. This fan is quiet, and even though it is not large, it sends a LOT of wind a long distance. Vornado fans are the best!

Moves a lots of air and not too loud. Worth every penny. Don’t think I will buy any other fans after having Vornado

I love how quiet this fan is especially on the less than maximum settings. On the highest setting it is loud but I usually keep the control a the quarter to half way setting at night just to have air movement while sleeping. Being able to adjust the speeds without being limited to 3 or 4 speeds is great. I'm able to carry it as needed from my upstairs office/craft room to my first floor master bedroom. I hope to purchase another Tornado in the future so I no longer need to do this.

I have a couple smaller Vornado fans that I’ve had for years. I needed a larger fan for a big room & bought this Energy Smart model, which is excellent. Buy one today!!!

Love this . So quiet, so elegant. So efficient. You get what you paid for.

I thought it would circulate well in out living room, but this model is probably small for that application. I moved it to our bedroom, and we run it at night. No longer do we get fans blowing directly on is, but the air is circulates and we are stating nice and comfy. It is pretty quiet.

Smaller than the picture it is. Powerful stream of air it provides.

i bought this for my menopausal wife. She loves it. We put it in our bedroom wuich os the farthest room from the furnace/ac. Really makes a difference in the room temp. I actually had to sleep in sweat pant and shirt a couple nights. Plan on buying a couple more real soo . I love the variable speed control.

This unit replaces an older circulator that had been running for many, many years and was time to replace. So far the 623DC is doing an exceptional job. We love the variable speed adjustment and for a fan so powerful the hum is negligible. We're also looking forward to the decrease in electricity usage with this energy efficient model. Hopefully this unit lasts for as long as its predecessor! Love to support a company that manufactures at least partially in the USA.
