Description
Now in a deluxe wooden box with an old world look. This wooden dice board game is a traditional game of counting, addition, and probability. This improved wood version with a felt playing surface has 12 numbers, rather than the typical 9 numbers of other versions, bringing more numerical combinations into play. Dating back to the 18th century, this game was enjoyed by Norman fishermen after a long day at sea. Roll the dice and lay down any numerical combination of tiles that match your roll. Just keep on rolling until you can no longer match your roll on the remaining tiles. The lowest score wins the game. If you lay down all the tiles, you win! This is sure to bring the old century charm to your home and can be played with any number of players.

I bought this game to bring on vacation with us . We tried it out to see if it was worth bringing it myself my husband and our two boys (15and1) loved it and yes the 1 year old played too of course he didn't understand but he loved helping out and rolling the dice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box is sturdy and well made. The latch on the outside was a bit loose but easily fixed. As for the game play it is a fun way to kill some time. I got my kids involved to help them learn their numbers. They really enjoyed shaking the dice in to the box and finding the numbers. This game is a great way to spend time as a daily.

This was my first time hearing about this game and I can't believe I didn't know about it before. My family loves it. Also so nice to have something that is so pretty and well made that is a game. Also it is a good size, could still travel well with it or leave it on the coffee table.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this version of the Shut The Box Game with 12 numbers in an old world styled wood box. The attention to detail is wonderful. I have seen other Shut The Box games with 9 numbers or with the numbers only on one side, but none were as beautifully crafted as this. I also love that this game includes wooden dice to match the boxes style instead of a set of plastic ones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this game! It's super fun, came well packaged, and the craftsmanship of the box and the game itself feels incredibly high-quality. The solid wood dice were also a nice touch. My only complaint is the less-than-thorough nature of the game instructions. It outlined the general rules of play well, but I ran into a few situations that weren't covered in the rule book. It's a little unclear as to what would happen if you roll a number that is greater than the remaining numbers on the board. It also doesn't go over rules for multiple players and how you win. A quick google search gave me the answers I needed, but a more detailed instruction book and a little paper pad scorecard might be worth adding in the future. Overall, it's a very fun game, well crafted with high quality wood, and I would definitely recommend!

The game plays fast and can be played repeatedly without getting bored. Fun for adults and kids as young as 7 or 8. One of those games that grown ups don't mind playing with kids and doesn't get old (like Candyland and Chutes & Ladders)...plus it helps with number recognition and easy addition. This is a simple, yet fun game!
