Q: What is a movie tie in? Is there new material in this compared to the original release?
submitted by Shane - 2 months ago
A: This novel has almost nothing in common with the musical. It's NC-17 rated & extremely dark & cynical. Winnie Holzman wrote the musical with songwriter Stephen Schwartz, who both also wrote the film.
submitted byKell Brigan - 29 days agoA: It’s just the cover that’s different with the movie poster. Idk why they made it confusing by adding [movie tie-in] though…

Hey Target! How about we stop putting promotional stickers smack dab on the cover of things we sell? This was supposed to be a gift and they put a very hard to remove sticker directly on Elphaba’s face… how stupid.

This book is amazing I love it so much the one thing that I dislike is that it's 456 pages. It's a really good book I love it a lot and would totally recommend people get it

Please note this book is not the same as the play or the movie! It is for Adults! With that it is dark, compelling, radical and beautiful book. It is moving and tender.

I don’t like it. I’m hoping the movie will be better. I think this book will be nothing like the movie. Likely the movie is based on the other 3 books in the series. This book is just a lot of yapping with nothing happening. Does seem like a fairy tale world!

Book is a great read, but has very adult themes and innuendo throughout. Story, film, and musical all echo each other in theme but offer different emotional and intellectual experiences. Design of the book is nice for a soft-back book. Spine is relatively flexible and finish on the cover is matte so as not to retain oily fingerprints.
