Q: What is the water tank made of ? What is the material of the tubing the water travels through ? What material is the heating element ?
submitted by leah - 1 year ago
A: It's $99, so it's not a copper heating element. It brews coffee at 180-185 degrees, which is to cold. Proper brewing temp is 195-204 degrees. Look at Balmuda, williams-sonoma, quality
submitted byPaulc - 11 months ago
A: I received the following response from the manufacturer:
“The water tubing in our machine is made from BPA-free, PFOA-free, and PTFE-free plastic. We take pride in ensuring that the materials used in our products are free of any harmful chemicals, including "forever chemicals," to keep your brewing experience as safe and healthy as possible.”
submitted byLongtime Target Shopper - 5 months ago
A: Update from the manufacturer after I asked some clarifying questions: “The heating element in this case is made of aluminum, which is pretty standard for efficient heat transfer. The tubing that carries the hot water up to the showerhead is silicone—it's used because it can handle high temperatures safely and doesn’t impart any flavors.”

Q: Can you program to Bree the next morning?
submitted by Nik - 10 months ago
A: No, this is a very simple machine. Definitely more like a regular coffee pot.
submitted bydneff - 10 months ago
A: Not the Bree, but a WiFi plug will do the trick.
submitted byJdx - 9 months ago
Q: Is the coffee maker itself plastic? Is the hot water traveling through plastic?
submitted by CHRISTINA - 9 months ago
A: From Willow: “The heating element in this case is made of aluminum, which is pretty standard for efficient heat transfer. The tubing that carries the hot water up to the showerhead is silicone—it's used because it can handle high temperatures safely and doesn’t impart any flavors.” The water tank is made of plastic. The only place hot water touches plastic might actually be the showerhead.

Q: Why does the photo show coffee dripping into the filter?
submitted by JHF - 8 months ago
Q: Is this pour-over system designed for single-cup brewing, or does it require making all 10 cups at once?
This pour over coffee maker has garnered attention for its ability to brew flavorful coffee with a smooth finish, making it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts. Guests appreciate its stylish design and ease of use, which enhances the coffee-making experience. However, concerns about durability and the carafe's fragility have been noted. Overall, it offers a unique and enjoyable way to brew coffee at home, perfect for those who value quality and aesthetics in their kitchen appliances.

Fatally Flawed
Initially this coffee maker worked great. Loved it's simplicity and design. It made a hot pot of coffe and looked good in my kitchen. After 6 months of once a day use, an internal wire burned a hole through the plastic casing (which I've read about happening on other reviews). It is no longer safely useable. It was fairly cheap, but still should have lasted more than six months. Will be going with a different brand for my next one.

FIRE HAZARD
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and I’m writing this review in July. So after owning and using this machine for 7 months, I’m actually scared to continue using it. It looks like the wires get so hot that they MELT THROUGH THE PLASTIC! The wires to the machine have actually melted through! This seems incredibly dangerous and hazardous and may event start a fire!

Dangerous
Worked great for about 10 months they had an electrical issue. The heating element inside started melting the plastic case. If I wouldn’t have caught it, it would have started an electrical fire. This thing is dangerous and now I’m out $100 although it could have definitely been worse.

Stopped working after 10 months
Was pretty. But made for the landfill. The water reservoir cannot be removed to clean. Lots of water evaporates out. Ultimately it was made to die. I hate that this contributes to the massive waste problem

Cracked carafe
Great machine, excellent coffee. Have been using it for a week, handling with kid gloves...and of course the carafe has a hairline crack already. I'm furious! This is precisely why i stopped using the Chemex years ago after breaking many of them. Arggggggghhhhhhhhh

Fragile Carafe
I bought this as a gift for a young couple and their carafe broke after one month. They have tried to order a replacement carafe, but it is on back order. I’m very disappointed as the design and function seemed so great and it makes a great gift.

Don't buy if you like the carafe
Honestly, great pour over coffee. I'm disappointed by the carafe. It has broken but lasted 4 months. I only purchased this maker with the understanding I could purchase a replacement but that has been sold out for some time now. I have purchased a different carafe from a different company. It doesn't look right and the brew is not the same. For the price you pay for this maker just consider not having the original carafe if it breaks. It's really unfortunate for myself.

I bought this as a gift for my mom, it was delivered to her Dec 22nd, in March it stopped working. Target made an exception and gave me a refund, but if you order this check the return/refund window as our stopped working in about 3 months. It's really pretty as far as coffee makers go.

Needs Redesigned Carafe
Not noticing different coffee flavor quality, but appreciate the reduced exposure to plastics over standard coffee maker. Carafe setup is too cumbersome and delicate, and replacements are unavailable.

Great tasting coffee
Love the design and the ease of making the coffee. Tastes Great too but....the burner plate does not get hot enough to even keep it warm. I cana touch my hand on it and barley warm. If you love Hot coffee this isn't for you.

Beautiful but does not work well at all
My friend bought herself one of these and also one for me. They were so stylish and we love drip coffee. Unfortunately, this does not get or keep the coffee hot. Even when you use hot water in it, the heating burner does not keep the coffee, warm such a disappointment.

It broke after one month of use. While it functioned it was great. But it stopped pouring the water. Customer service was also not great. They denied my claim due to not having my address, which they could've just asked me for? Im bummed because it made good coffee but it barely lasted 30 days.

Great coffee maker
So happy with this pour over coffee maker. The coffee tastes amazing and doesn't have that plastic taste like lots of others do. Love it and the design is beautiful and looks nice at my coffee station at home.

Wonderful low tox Coffee Maker!
I really love this machine!!! It is a lower toxic option for a coffee maker and yet a pour over in one!! When I did have an issue, the customer service was great. I love the size of the large glass carafe and the plate warmer since I am a 2 large cups coffee drinker. The second cup waits hot for me! I am diligent to clean it right away and keep it in the best possible condition!!

This pour over coffee maker is terrific and I highly recommend this appliance I also support their mission of using eco friendly materials.
