The two part gauge has a polycarbonate measurement tube and a UV-stabilized plastic flute. As the rain falls, the gauge rises. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Will be attached to deck railing when I figure out where. With the top board overhanging the uprights, It needs something to keep it upright and far enough away from the overhang. I am not a carpenter!

I'm sure this will work fine as a rain gauge, but I bought one for myself a few years ago here at W & W and the container was made of solid copper. I assumed this would be copper also because it certainly looks like it, unfortunately it's plastic that is the color of copper.

It's garbage... have to unhook a cheap piece of plastic to empty the gauge... looks like brass... but garbage... will hit the recycled bin shortly... wil never buy from W and W again...

I want to thank the company for replacing the rain gauge I bought my husband. After I had sent a bad review they checked my original order and found that I was incorrect about the time I bought it. They replaced my broken gauge ! We truly appreciate that and hope that the new one will hold up. Much thanks to wind and weather for sending us a new one!

Disappointed that the plastic deck mount cracked. It cant hold the water anymore. Called the company to see if I can buy replacement part and they do not sell replacements. The warranty is only for a year and they can do nothing for me. I had it for a year and a half! It's costly for something that is plastic. I would not recommend this product! It was a gift to my husband and he liked it until it cracked!

It accurately measures the rain fall. Also, I appreciate the deck mounting, copper and blue color, etc. We have only had this for about one month. My husband adjusted the screws so I could pour the accumulated rain water out of the container.

Nice product and it worked well for our recent rains. I thought it is a little pricey, but it is US made which matters to use. I wish the catalog and online info had been more completer on where to locate the gauge. My original location choice was too close to the home.

I love the idea of this rain gauge. Just wish I could see it in action. In New Mexico we've had no rain for 45 days. We've only lived here for six months, and everyone says, "Just wait till the monsoons."
