Brass Outdoor Weather Thermometer - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia

All the ones at my store were missing the actual thermometer, such a let down

I picked this up because it’s SO cute, but it’s not all that functional as a thermometer. I brought it out to my greenhouse to set it up and had 2 other thermometers in there at the time. After about an hour in the greenhouse I checked it. It was reading 10+ degrees higher than the other thermometers. I picked it up to investigate (hadn’t even attached it to the wall yet) and burned myself- the brass was SO hot! I think the heat from the metal was actually causing the reading to be inaccurately high. Also, there’s no protection to the inside gauge- the front is just open- so it’s not weather proof (even though it’s labeled as an “outdoor thermometer”). I won’t be keeping it. Bummer!

So cute, but temp off 10 or so degrees It’s 82 out right now according to phone and the thermometer reads 90

It’s pretty, but we put it up and something is obviously wrong with the thermometer now and we have only had it up a few months. See photo.

Looks really nice in our sunroom. Great size & color. I keep a few plants in my sunroom so this works great to monitor the room temperature. Also looks high end & adds character.

Not even a week outside and it’s already rusting! Beyond that one of the screws sheared off on installing it on to our wood pergola. Just all around junk and I wouldn’t recommend this at all

I love the design but it has never worked. Once mounted on the wall we threw out the instructions. I pulled an instruction packet off one in the store and nothing whatsoever other than how to mount it. A moron could figure that out. Would return but too much of a pain in the butt to return.

Well I would have loved this under our new pergola BUT the actual thermometer tube being inside would’ve been helpful. Just wasn’t there. At all. Ughhh.

I love it! Buy it! I placed it on my post under my covered porch. Perfect place for it. You get what you payed for. Sorry about the other bad reviews but I’m really happy about my purchase.

I have had this thermometer for several years now. It took me a while to figure out where I should hang it to keep it safe from the weather, as I live in the northeast. I ended up putting it on our covered front porch. The brass has held up well, it reads the temperature accurately. I recall reading on the packaging that it should be installed in a covered area.

Top fell off before I got a chance to install. I glueed it back together and installe, then the glass vial fell out of the center.

We purchase an absurd amount of Hearth and Hand merchandise :0)…. this thermometer IS beautiful and takes an accurate temperature. However, there is NOTHING to cover the workings of the thermometer as you would expect; no glass or plastic. We were confused and thought maybe this one was defective? Looked closer at item photo and not the case. Really disappointed because out here in AZ or anywhere it would be subjected to the elements, the entire interior/temperature gauge of this piece will be super difficult to keep clean…the brass edges are rather sharp around this interior/temp. gauge. Not enough for me to return, that’s why the three stars but my husband and I have finally decided to take the time to reach out to Magnolia after receiving so many defective, cheaply made, and disappointing items that, we believe, Chip and Jo wouldn’t necessarily put their stamp of approval on…just an absorbent amount of reviews where customers are “disappointed”… “cheaply made”…”missing parts”….”rug is frayed already “…”sheets ripped after 1st wash”…simply too many, because their line is affordable, proven so far to be timeless, and full of products America has embraced…If any one else agrees please write to the company. -Jeanette
