Love the look of this and the installation was pretty easy! Having an app for your ac makes it feel so fancy but it’s also so nice to be able to set it to whatever temp you need before getting into the room. It’s a great machine and blows the air up so it’s not blowing directly on you but is cooling the whole room.
It should be shhhhh!

An upgrade But the App could use some work

AC is quiet and cools weel but the app could use some work. There is no way to set a timer to turn off on the unit or with the remote so you have to use the app. The app has no pre built timer function so hou have to build a multi step "automation flow" just to have e a timer for an hour or a 2 and they often get stuck. Outside out that few complaints so far
Works well and pretty quiet

The AC is smaller and neater than my previous one and somewhat quieter. It cools well, but I wonder what my electric bill will look like.
Is a helicopter landing in my room?!?

I’m confused - is a helicopter landing or is that the AC?!? Loudest thing ever! Also very disappointed with aesthetics- it’s so large and ugly. If it weren’t on a rear window of my house, it would be a no go. It would be waaaay to embarrassing to have something that looks like this face the street or my neighbors. This was an attempt for a solution in my 100 year house before I invest in a mini split but it’s looking g like I’m just going to have to make the investment

Upon opening the unit I enjoyed the little details. Magnetic filter cover. Surge protector in plug., no more piped circuit breakers. Temperature light that goes off. Side panes that fit tightly in window, unlike any of my past units.
We love it!

Cools the room nicely and the installation was a breeze! It’s really nice to be able to control the air conditioner with my phone using their app!

I bought one of the small units for a bedroom we use as a television and entertainment room. It cools the room perfectly and is quiet enough for us to enjoy television in the same room. So I purchased a second unit for our master bedroom to replace an older floor standing unit, and it has been a better solution for us in that room too. Great little AC, easy to install and easy to control from app on phone.

Really love the Windmill air conditioners. This is my third. Easy to install and very efficient. One complaint with this one....the two I bought last year came with a cover to cover it in the winter months. I don't know why but the one purchased this year did not come with that.

Windmill noisier than expected

I already have a Midea inverter AC unit which we love, but since Wirecutter recommended Windmill so highly, we decided to get one as our second AC unit (and I also bought one for our tenants). One of the things that was emphasized was how quiet the unit would be. However the compressor has been very noisy; we have had a number of very nice folks from Windmill try to help us sort it out, but it is still really noisy. We are just going to put up with it and we appreciate that it is more efficient than other brands, but I was disappointed that it is quite a bit noisier than the Midea. We also wish the Windmill had a “dry” mode in addition to “cool” and “eco”.

I ordered the 8k whisper tech and all I have to say is wow! We live in an old home that doesn’t have central air, we do have a mini split, but if the bedroom door is shut, it can reach up to 80° in there. Some years we install the old, loud AC unit in the window but I don’t like it because it’s so loud and I wake up at 2 AM freezing. The whisper tech wouldn’t even wake up a cranky newborn. It is so quiet. I was a bit nervous about opening up the pocketbook because of the cost but it was well worth the money! Thinking about another unit for the spare bedroom. What I love most about this unit is that it auto shuts off when it reaches a certain temperature and the quietness
Happy with this!

I had to buy a new AC because of a major recall on the brand I had. I'm really liking this unit. I feel like it cools more completely with less effort, it's quieter than most units I've ever had, and it's much nicer looking which isn't important but nice to have. My only, only wish is that they sold a support bracket for it. Needed or not I always feel better with it and my last brand had one designed for it so I got spoiled. :)

Set up the unit when it was 82 degrees in our bedroom. 2 hours later it's at 75 degrees when it's set for 70. Definitely not worth the money.

Got the recommendation from my neighbors to get a Windmill AC. I purchased the 8 btu unit and so far it has been great cooling down a couple of rooms in my house. It runs quieter than many window AC units as well. Happy so far.Tad S

I’m a huge fan! I purchased a new AC for my bedroom last summer, and was so impressed by the combination of cool and quiet I couldn’t wait to start replacing old units for other rooms in my house. My room has one, my wife’s home office has one, and my downstairs has a 12,000 BTU one that handles 3 rooms! I also have an air purifier and fan in my kid’s rooms, so they don’t feel left out.

I love this AC, it cools my whole downstairs very quickly and is so quiet. Easy to install and more sleek looking than other ACs. I had an issue with my AC at first that it was making a weird noise and they were extremely responsive and helpful in fixing the issue.
Fantastic

Beautiful AC... would not even think of putting another unit in based off looks alone, however the cooling is also 2nd to none. This unit is a home run.
