Puppy appeared in yard. looked a lot like Pitt /bull coloring but snout to thin and eyes to close. Head not big enough. He is a Heinz 57, but 26% Pttie which explains a lot. Smart and sweet.

I was really excited to do the DNA test for my pup. I was told she was a daschund mix. I couldn't believe that she was only 2% daschund. She was mostly poodle/Chihuahua. She's not curly haired at all and too big to be Chihuahua. DNA is amazing stuff.

Our dog DNA test results were so detailed! I think perhaps more detailed than my Ancestry. com DNA results! It was fun finding out our new dog is a mix of 20 breeds, and the main one was quite the surprise. It was great fun sharing the results with everyone too! We adopted our dog from a shelter and shared the results with people there.

I adopt rescue dogs. So you do not always know their exact age or heritage. using the Wisdom Panel has helped me learn a bit of background on each of the dogs I've adopted. Sometimes there are breed specific traits that you need to know about to better manage the dogs future. Thanks

Happy with my results from Wisdom Panel. I wish we could share our results between different testers. 2 of my dogs were tested using Embark DNA tests and I found a lot of relatives. Wisdom panel not many at all, but if I could feed her results into the Embark DNA bank it would really help in finding her close ancestry and more.

My dog is fully white and doesn’t shed. We got a dna test cause he didn’t fit the description for a lot of white dogs that are similar. Although it was informative and fun to see, the results said he was a heavy shedder and was very likely to have patches of different colors and patterns. It also said he was more likely to have perked up ears and didn’t detect the gene for floppy ears when he has very floppy ears, that they didn’t detect any curly hair gene when he has curly hair, and didn’t detect genes for extra toes when he has those as well. Even though it didn’t all seem to be inaccurate, I feel I was left with more questions than I started with. However, I am not sure if it was because of poor dna swabs because our dog did lick them. Also, I chose to get this test over other ones specifically because it said it included personality traits since I thought it would be fun to see the genetic reasons for why my dog acts in certain ways. However, it only comes with 2 traits and you have to pay for more (a little misleading), and I wish they had been explained more like the connection between the breed and the behavior because I think it would be interesting to see how genetics play into how your dog acts. The 2 included traits were accurate though so I can’t complain too much. Overall, the experience of reading everything with my family was around 20 minutes and it was overall positive but a little disappointing. One suggestion I have that I think would be fun is to generate a picture of what they think the dog could look like based on the dna test with AI or something.

There was only one thing that came back that I can see. Poodle mix. My dog was a rescue, and the vet guessed Schnauzer / Lhasa Apso mix. When I google images of gray Schnauzer / Lhasa Apso mix, images of dogs that look like mine come up. But I also wondered if he had maltize in him. He doesn't look to have chihuahua, pomeranian or crocker spaniel. I just don't see those breeds in him at all. When I google images for those mixes, I don't see any dogs that look like mine.

I knew Toby was special, but I couldn't figure out what it was. The 15% German Shorthaired Pointer traits NAILED the temperament that i couldn't put my finger on and now I know how to approach his training 😀 What a keen thing this DNA testing is 👍
