In her former job as a cocktail waitress at the American Legion, she hid the pain of her failing marriage and acted like the alcohol-fueled antics of her customers was fun and enjoyable. But after her husband's untimely death, Audrey was ready to stop acting. She was determined to make her life real again by relocating to Burntside Lake.

Signe, Karl's twenty-eight-year-old daughter, feels as though she's living in a perpetual holding pattern. Caretaking for her visually impaired father gives her purpose, but it doesn't fulfill her needs. She craves excitement, change, and maybe even some romance to shake things up.
