Women's Maxi Open Back Sundress - A New Day™

I love this dress! I’ve had my eye on it since spring, but I wanted to wait for the price to drop. I read bad reviews and kinda forgot about her. I was in the store yesterday just lingering and she was waiting for me in the clearance section. Perfect size and fit. I tried her on as soon as I got home and it was meant to be. I’m 6’1, in a L, I filled in the top perfectly and cinched the waist with the wrap belt. I’m glad she’s mine now.

The fabric is cotton, so it's pretty lightweight. The waistband is super stretchy! The pattern is colorful and embroidered.

Both are pretty prints and cotton/rayon materials. The fit is good, tie wrap in back brings dress together. The bottom part could’ve had less material but since it’s cotton it may correct somewhat. They’re both keepers.

I’m definitely in the minority on this one because I found this dress to be great! First, the fabric content: 100% cotton with no plastic polyester junk?! YES PLEASE. Based on how other people talked about it in reviews, I did size down from my usual medium to a small (I’m 5’0”, 145lbs). As a 34DDD, I found the chest to be generously sized which is usually a problem for me so to have room to breathe made me very happy! I think the other issue is that people aren’t tying it correctly to be flattering. It needs to be tied around the front first, taking care to make sure the ties lie flat and then going around the back to tie off in a bow. With this method I could adjust the bunching of the fabric around my chest and it gave a flattering effect (see photos). I’m keeping this one!

I absolutely love the back of this dress!! I bring the wrap around to the back and tie it in the back for a tighter fit, but it can be tied in the front as well. I also appreciate that the v neck on this dress isn’t too low so it’s an option that’s appropriate for many occasions.

I ordered the xsmall. Just not a nice fit. The xsmall was too big Cheap looking The fabric. The picture of the dress is very deceiving. I am returning the dress. .

I wanted to love this dress - but the fit was very strange. The dress fit very large in the chest area - I’m thinking I could have gone down a size and it would have worked but I didn’t have time to reorder for family pictures. The neckline was also very low.

Horrible fit. I purchased small, and I was drowning in the dress.

I wanted to love this dress. The pattern is so cute. I actually thought about it for a few days before getting it. Went back and bought the dress, tried it on at home, and the fit was so weird. The top has too much fabric, so when you bend down everything is hanging out. This is probably great for bigger chested people but for me it was a miss. I actually had it altered and even then, the dress still left an awkward gap when bending over. Very bizarre. Im having the fabric repurposed into a cropped button down.

I don’t have an issue with the fit, as others mentioned, but it is not as cute and elegant as it looks on the hanger. The lining stops mid thigh, and the rest of the material is very see-thru. It makes it look cheap in my opinion. The fish pattern is cute though.

Super cute dress- love the fish print for Summer. I’m 5’3” about 145 pounds (small on top) and size small fits very well. The bow at the waist definately looks better tied in the front rather than the back. Looking forward to wearing this dress out!

I have to agree with most other reviewers that the fit on this dress is just weird and unflattering. The fish print is adorable, which is what drew me in. The fabric is light and perfect for summer. However, problems abound with the dress itself. Odd cut and too much fabric up top, waist doesn't sit where it should which throws everything else off, and the lining ends at mini skirt level (at least on me, at 5'7"), leaving you with just a sheer layer of fabric for the rest of the skirt. You would have to be comfortable going braless as the only thing you could wear with this would be a stick-on or boob tape. The overall effect was frumpy and weird proportions all over the place. Really disappointing because I wanted to like this one. Would love to see something else in this print, though!

The print of this dress is so pretty. The fit of this dress is not. I’m a regular medium. Ended up exchanging for an XS. If you are a pear or triangle shape, this isn’t for you. I’m small in the bust and this just flops.

Definitely for curvy girls. I am 200 lbs, 5’3” and have big boobs and hips. It accentuates my waist. The size medium fit me perfectly. I’m usually a large so it does run big.

Pretty from afar, top is awkwardly very bulky despite your bust size. Ripped SO easily.

I really love the print and fabric but like other reviews have said, the fit on top is TERRIBLE!!! I’m 5’4” 36C and I got a Medium. There is way too much fabric on top but at the same time the straps were too short - just ridiculous looking.

Although this dress didn't fit me, it is gorgeous!! I am absolutely in love with it. It looks 10x prettier in person than it does on the website!

Terrible fit. My daughter is 5'10 130lbs and I bought her the small...the top half was enormous and the tie just makes it pucker everywhere...do not buy!
