Worx WA0863 Landroid OFF Limits Digital Fencing

Our garden is split into two zones, front and back, with the side garden part of the front. Due to where the best location ended up being for the base station, there was always a good chance that Landroid would hit the border wire _after_ the base station whenever he wanted to return to base. It meant he was often making extra loops right around the border, round the front of the house, before returning to base. Because he always follows the same path, it resulted in noticeable tracks around the edge. This module really changed that and made it possible to add several strategic shortcuts to the perimeter to bypass sections. Now the chance of him hitting the border and having to travel a long way is drastically reduced, and even if he manages to find the 3m section of the border just after the last shortcut in the back garden, he's still going to come to another shortcut at the side to avoid him having to go all the way around. This also improved the zone control, where he'd often "jump the fence" between the front and back garden zones. Now he always bounces off, only navigating between the zones when he's following the border wire to move between them or to return to the base. It seems quite expensive, so I put off trying it for a while, but it was a worthwhile addition in the end that's really improved things. Quick and easy to install the shortcuts to an existing setup and like the border wire itself, barley noticeable once the graw grows over it. I haven't used the lengthy spare magnetic strip to fence off any areas but it's handy to have if we ever need to.

I recently planted a tree in my backyard and didn’t want my landroid to mow the young sap over, so I bought this. It works almost exactly as advertised, and makes me wonder why this is an add-on and not just built in. The only thing I would improve is if there was a way to expand the radius through the app instead of manually adjusting.

used this to mask off my flower beds, it worked perfectly. Easy to install, love out I can add features onto my mower.

I have loved mine but as I have read in other reviews the off limits stopped working. I tried to reinstall and it is dead, does not show up on home screen. I messaged support and after a couple If weeks I finally got an email that said they are working on the issue. A couple weeks more and I am sending in another request for help because I have received no response. I love the machine but without the off Limits Feature I just can’t use it as efficiently as I want so that is a big problem.

This worked fine the first season when I used it around a planted area. The second season landroid got inside the boundary and cut my plants, multiple times! I don't know if after a while the magnetic field isn't as strong, or if it gets covered by even the slightest amount of weeds/grass/debris that it doesn't detect the magnetic field or what, but I do not recommend. Instead, when you lay the boundary wire, include double-backs every so often so you have options for moving the boundary wire around and using the extra slack in the double-backs without cutting into it. If you have anything more permanent, just plan the boundary wire around it even though you're going to need more of it to get to a central tree or planted area - the off limits isn't worth the money or effort long term.
