Dont waste your money
This was quite the waste of money. It does not sharpen well and when it does, you have to hold the pencil at a specific spot and turn it. Even then, it doesn’t give you an exact sharpen. Just stick with the cheaper manual sharpener and save your money.

For best results, we recommend inserting the pencil gently without applying extra downward pressure and allowing the sharpener to guide the position naturally while turning. If I would have read the reviews first, I never would have bought it. Poorly made! It takes most of your pencil just to sharpen once. Installing the batteries is a nightmare. Plan on returning after only once use. Please don’t waste your money.

Purchased two, one for each kid. The bottom broke off one of them while trying to get the batteries installed. The other one sharpened a few pencils but then was too hard to get the front off to empty the shavings. Do not recommend.

Waste of money
Dont recommend. You have to force it the opposite way for to sharpen. Might as well and get a manual sharpener. Waste of money. Came lose and sticky at the bottom just as the pictures posted in the other reviews. I was too upset and threw it away

Purchase this if you want your pencils broken up and super tiny, it works great for wasting pencils.

Two Years and Still Going
I’ve had this for over two years and it works better than the expensive bulky ones I have in my school library. My kids use it at home often to sharpen pencils of all kinds. I’ve taught them to use it since kids can be heavy handed with things. Sharpens well and empties easily. Caution: cheap pencils can be sharpened well but usually the lead breaks easily because they’re made out of cheap materials (invest in quality pencils). Also, look out for pencils wrapped in decorative plastic. The plastic wraps around the sharpener when sharpened and is a nuisance when trying to remove it. I imagine that could mess up any electric sharpener.
