Q: How are the labels applied to clothing and do they stick to all material?

  • A: Hello, this is Vernie from DYMO Consumer Care. Thank you for your interest in the LetraTag 100H. In order for the LetraTag Iron-On Fabric Labels to adhere to clothing, you will need to: 1. Insert the iron-on fabric tape cassette in your Dymo LetraTag and print your message. Throw away the black ribbon that is loosely attached to the label. 2. Iron the garment where the label is to be applied. 3. Position the printed message on the garment. 4. Set the iron to "dry" and a medium-high temperature (130 to 170°C or 290 to 370 deg F) - usually the middle setting on your iron. 5. Cover the fabric tape with another cloth to prevent sticking of the adhesive to the iron. Use the flat surface of the iron (usually the rear of the iron), press the iron down firmly on the label and keep the iron still for 10 seconds. 6. Repeat 3 times allowing the label to cool between each repetition 7. Press down on each of the short edges of the label for a further 10 to 15 seconds. For best results, attach the fabric tape to garments with smooth surfaces made from 100% linen, 100% cotton, or cotton and polyester blends. The label maker did not work from the first time I turned it on. It would make the printing noise, but the tape would never feed through unless I forced it to. Would absolutely not recommend.

After that, press the power button 15 times, insert brand new high-quality batteries, pull 3cm of tape out of the cartridge and insert the cartridge with the pulled tape hanging out. Just bought this today and am already annoyed by it. It prints fine for the first day but it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the backing from the label. I can’t stick what I printed on anything because I can’t remove the back part of the label. So useless.

I put new batteries in, used it once. Second time I went to use it (the next day) it wouldn’t turn on at all. Don’t bother wasting your money. I wish I listened to the other reviews who had the same problem.

I really love the ease of use on this label maker “LetraTag LT-100H”. There are definitely more options I’d like for the font styles. However now my screen isn’t displaying the entire text. It now shows a couple of clear/blank lines running horizontally through the screen. So now I cannot tell what I am typing. Regarding the reviews on the printer jam or print failure, I’ve never encountered that problem and have printed about 4 cartridges worth of labels. Hopefully this is fixable. I am curious about the LetraTag devices that have the larger keyboard or one that hooks up to an app to my iPhone or a program for the Mac Computers. The attached photo is a picture of my display that says “DYMO”. I only am rating it Poor because I cannot use this product any more because I cannot tell what I am typing nor see what options I am selecting when wanting to change the settings or formatting.

Put brand new 4 AA batteries in it and it printed 3 labels which the labels do not adhere well at all. By the 4th label it cut it short of the letters and then after trying to print 3 more, showed a low battery status. Looks like this is a common issue with all the 1 star reviews. Looks like this product needs to go through quality control again. I was contemplating getting the same one but after reading all these reviews with the similar issue, I'll pass on the defective product and try a different brand instead.

Low Battery error

Worked for a couple weeks then started getting a low battery error even though it hadn't been used much. Eventually stopped printing altogether, have put in brand new batteries and factory reset but the problem persists.
