Q: Can you use the bottom as a shelf and not install the X shelf at the bottom?

A: The X panel can be left off but once the door is installed it cannot be taken off.

Great Wine Rack
Easy to put together. Very fair price. Looks much more expensive than it was. Has plenty of room to store glassware and bottles. Shipped quickly. Very happy with this purchase!
