If you've never tried this you absolutely must! We've been eating this for over 10 years and it is one of the best boxes of rice out there! Deicious flavor, and pairs well with anything!

I located instructions to cook it in my microwave and my house smelled amazing for hours. Unlike other comments I didn't think it was too salty in fact it had just ur right amount of seasoning. The texture was perfect and my whole family wanted more. It was a great addition to make family dinner easier on a busy day.

I was pleasantly surprised at how balanced the Zatarain's Yellow Rice kit was! I have very picky children and there were NO complaints! This is a rare occurrence in my house! I will absolutely be purchasing this product again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had low expectations because I don't usually make rice out of a box. In my past experiences, it's usually too salty. Also, my husband and kids like plain white rice so I make what they like to eat. What I liked about this product is that it was so easy. I only needed to add water although I did add the optional butter. It was just like making white rice on the stovetop. I didn't have to worry about stirring it or that it would burn. I tossed all the ingredients in a pot and turned the heat down to a simmer once it started to boil. Then when the timer went off, I removed it from the stove and waited another 5 minutes then it was done! It smelled so good. I gave it a taste test and it was favorable, but not too salty. I can imagine playing it with chicken, pork, fish, or shrimp. I had my picky young daughters and husband try it and unfortunately they all did not like it. That being said, it was good enough that I would actually buy it for myself.

It's always hard and sticks to the pan no matter what I do, so I normally use my rice cooker or buy the rice in a bag and stick in this microwave… but this CAME OUT AMAZING!! The taste was so good, so flavorful, savory, and had just the right amount of spice to it. I didn't need to throw anything extra in it and it had mixed veggies in it which I liked. The rice was soft, cooked perfectly, and wasn't dry. Even my boyfriend thought it tasted really good and he normally doesn't eat my rice that I cook. We had chicken enchiladas with it but this would taste so good with grilled pork chops and chicken breast as well. I was able to try this for free for exchange of this review but if I see this rice out at the store I will be definitely buying a couple boxes. Only downfall is it does take 30-35 mins to cook so you have to be mindful of whatever else you're cooking with it as well. I was REALLY hungry at the time so I had a hard time being patient!! Otherwise super good!

So I made mine without butter. Mine didn't take the full time to cook so I'm glad the instructions gave the option to cook until tender. I wasn't sure what to expect with a name like 'yellow rice'. It has a chicken flavor. I'd say this is nothing exceptional. I think I'd rather flavor my own plain rice.
