Zinsser Mold Blocking Primer Spray

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have no other words to describe this primer other than perfect. It was exactly what we needed to renovate our bathroom. The bathroom ceiling had a tendency to get a little moldy over time due to the humidity but this primer has been doing amazing. It has been over a month since we painted and there is no sign of mold or regrowth.

I've tried several products that seem to help for awhile. This stuff works great. It is thick, adheres well and drys quickly. Only took one coat to cover my bathroom. I cleaned the walls before applying. What's more important is the mold hasn't reoccured. Humidity has been bad and still no mold. I'm loving it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So we have an older house and unfortunately the pipes are a bit older and the pipes in the basement from time to time leak. We have had to replace quite a few over the years. When this happens we have to bleach then repaint. I always worry about mold growing, so far we haven’t had that issue and this is the only paint we have been using!

Instead of replacing all the ceiling tiles where it seems to be the biggest problem area, I took them down & painted over the mold. They look brand new!! It makes me feel great knowing this kills the mold. Highly recommend, this stuff is incredible

We got it cleaned and used this primer because it was recommended to us. We figured out the source of moisture, got that fixed and have not had any problems since. The primer was easy to use and worked well.

It’s something we plan to change in the future because we are constantly dealing with mold/mildew on the ceiling. This mold killer primer worked perfect at covering and as of today, several weeks after painting it initially, we still have a nice clean mold free ceiling! The primer paints on smoothly and evenly. I felt that the smell was strong but that’s to be expected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having a light mold issue in my basement over and over, I decided to give Zinsser Mold Killing Primer a try and am very happy I did. Primer needs to be stirred very well before using. I used a paint brush to get the moldy areas and it covered well. Primer goes on nice and thick without running. I didn't need to do a second coat, but did anyways to make sure the mold wasn't going to reappear. The primer doesn't have a strong smell either and dries pretty quick. I started painting a little over an hour after applying the primer. Cleaning my brushes up was also easy to do. I'm pretty pleased with Zinsser Mold Killing Primer as it prevents more mold from growing.

Naturally there were leaks and mold had formed. This primer keeps mold from bleeding through before drywall finishing or painting. Of course, you must fix the leak first, but after that, one coat generally does the trick.

We were in the process of remodeling our bathroom where we have previously had a mold problem. After cleaning the area and using this product the surrounding areas are now fresh and mold free. I will continue to purchase this great product. This is as easy to use as any other primer or paint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently bought Zinsser Mold Killing Primer and its my go to primer from here on. Its a good quality primer that works great with killing mold and odor causing bacteria. It also covers porous surfaces and dark walls. I used this in my bathroom walls for mold growth from moisture and not only did it kill the mold but in about an hour my walls were ready for painting. I highly recommend this product if your looking for a mold killer primer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this base to cover the post of the mailbox that had turned green. I plan to use it outside the house to cover a bit that has turned green. I recommend it. It is very easy to apply just the water to stir the paint well. The smell is not strong, it is a normal smell of paint. It is very easy to use and to open, it comes well closed. and you can open it very easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to get to finally try out this Zinsser Mold Killing Primer on my walls & seven my ceilings! I wanted to use this as a preventative measure and to also kill mold that had began to come on my ceiling from a roof leak I didn't know I had. I am so thrilled with the results of this primer and how nice everything looked after using it. The primer arrived to my house super fast once it was shipped and it was packed so so well to prevent anything from happening to my paint during shipment, which I truly appreciated. Plus the packaging was completely recyclable! The Zinsser Mold Killing Primer is easy to open up once you've got it there with you. It's got a nice consistency and it was also easy to mix up and get started using. We used this primer in our living room on the walls, our kitchen walls, our laundry room walls and even on the entire ceiling in my home. Once you've initially cleaned your walls and got them ready to paint, this Zinsser Primer goes on very well. It coats & covers very well. You could definitely get away with just one coat but I still would put 2 just in case. I even had this tinted the color I wanted my walls for my second coat. So it was like having the best covering, mold killing/preventing paint that you could buy. Not a single issue with this product whatsoever. I do recommend this paint primer because it's a good product and it works well. I recommend using it on your walls & even your ceilings because it looks great. Plus it doesn't cost you an arm & leg if you have it tinted to be the color you want your walls! It stops you from having to buy paint & primer both separately!

I definitely recommend this product it gets the job done and it can be used inside and outside.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a lot of mold/phosphorus on the basement wall and after I prepared the wall, I applied a coat of this mold killing primer and it worked fabulously. It rolls on just like a coat of paint, and I think a second coat would work even better, being that the wall really was in bad shape to begin with. In our area, the temperatures are quite cold right now, so over the winter and when spring arrives will be the real test for longevity. However, right now it is holding up well and looks great. I am happy with the result and quite impressed with how well it looks right now. Truly a great product to allow you to cover right over mold and make everything look brand new again.. AAA+++

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dealing with some stained drywall from an old water leak, as well as some drywall that showed some surface mold due to condensation, I wanted to take preventative measures to avoid any mold reactivation in those areas. Zinsser Mold Killing Primer was the only primer that I found that claims to both kill and prevent mold. Prior to painting, I washed the affected areas with a diluted bleach solution and allowed it to dry thoroughly. There is a lot of conflicting information regarding the effectiveness of using chlorine bleach on drywall, but it has always seemed to be helpful in my experience. Concrobium Mold Control Spray would probably be the best choice, however. The Zinsser Mold Killing Primer has fairly good stain-hiding properties, but on the water-stained areas I applied a second coat for better coverage. The paint’s odor is comparable to other paint products. Since Zinsser Mold Killing Primer is a water-based paint, it dries quickly. Zinsser claims that it is dry to the touch in 30 minutes and that it can be top coated in 1 hour. Zinsser also states that the top coat should be applied within 72 hours of priming, for best results. I let the primer dry overnight (even though it felt and appeared completely dry much sooner), and applied the finish paint the following day. I am hopeful that over the long-term the Zinsser Mold Killing primer will perform as described. Zinsser claims that the Mold Killing Primer is an EPA registered fungicidal protective coating, so it really should do the job! Application of Zinsser Mold Killing Primer was the same as for any other water-based paint, and the clean-up was also just as easy. I feel a lot better about the repainted walls having used Zinsser Mold Killing Primer for the primer coat. Hopefully I will never see any bleed through or any signs of mold regrowth in those areas. I am counting on the long-term effectiveness of the Zinsser Mold Killing Primer!

Around our shower we had mold spots and by cleaning the area and applying this primer it not only made the mold go away the smell also went away. If you have mold issues this is the best product to use.
