The quality is still there after all these years. Would have loved to gotten the long meat slicer in steam of 2 small pearling knives, only really need 1 of those. It’s just nice to know that something you knew was high quality 35 years, that it still has the same high quality I was expecting.

This is set is of great quality and very sharp. I do a lot of meat smoking and these are the perfect knives for making great cuts. They are high quality German steel with easy grip handles. Worth the cost to only have to buy one set and be done.

I did my research and these was the best knife set in my price range that was forged and made in Germany. I love the feel of these out of the block, not too heavy and well balanced. I really look forward to owning a "real" set of kitchen knives, something that professionals would have in their home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knives are heavy and sturdy, my wife and I received this as a wedding gift to upgrade our pioneer woman Walmart set and the quality of this knife set is amazing. The block is long so it has to go in a corner if you have smaller counters but it’s perfect for us!

Slices through with practically just the weight of the knife. I received them as a gift but wish I would have bought them long before now. I plan to use these for a long time.

Wanted a set that has every knife I use in the kitchen, including the steak knives. Most of the larger sets are not the quality I was looking for. These Four Star knives are made in Germany and are made from Zwilling Special Formula Steel, which is so good, it is guaranteed for life. These Four Star knives have been around for almost forty years, so I know they are well designed, and will stand the test of time!

I wanted to make a one time purchase. This complete set has all of my needs met from paring and prep all the way up to the slicing knives. The Four Star design is a classic. The handles are very comfortable and the texture of the handles give me confidence in my grip as I am cutting. The forged German steel and made blades are very strong and hold an edge for a very long time. When its time to sharpen they are very easy to maintain. The steak knives are also great. Basically they are smaller versions of the boning knife, going through the same process as all of the other knives. The straight blade rather than serrated style allows them to cut and not tear food an also be sharpened when the time comes.

The most comprehensive set Zwilling makes, IMHO. Just because you get get both a meat cleaver and a boning knife. They go nicely with the set of 8 straight-edge steak knives. Basically, you have everything you need for day-to-day cooking - simple meals or complex, this set has you covered. And covered with knives that will last a lifetime. And if you do the math, this is an incredible value. There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work. These knives have all the features of world class knives, because they are - world class knives. Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it still looks almost new.
