Most science advent calendars follow a 24-day format with one reveal per day. Reveals vary by product and can include a gemstone, a small figurine, or a mini experiment.

Holiday science kits span STEM subjects such as general science, physics and electricity/circuits, astronomy/space, and geology (rocks, gems, and fossils).

These projectors are double-sided with stationary and moving modes. The moving side uses layered, rotating domes to create the appearance of moving stars. They work best in a dark room for optimal visibility.

Battery requirements vary by product. Many kits state “No Battery Used,” but some items require batteries. For example, one circuit builder lists “Battery: 1 Non-Universal Lithium Ion, Required, Installed,” while a planetarium projector lists “Battery: 3 AA Alkaline, Required, Not Included.”

These kits commonly include multiple genuine gemstone or mineral specimens, an ID sheet or instruction guide, a storage pouch or jewelry settings, and sometimes a final-day dig kit or mini dig-brick activity.
