Wear time varies by tape type: kinesiology-style tapes commonly stay on about 1–3 days, while some medical adhesive tapes specify up to around 48 hours.

Some options are elastic and provide compression or joint/muscle support while allowing movement. Kinesiology-style tapes often offer substantial stretch—for example, some products advertise around 180% stretch—to permit mobility while supporting the area.
