Dry and cure times vary by formula. Some quick-dry liquid polishes set in about 60 seconds, kid-friendly water-based options suggest blow-drying for around one minute, and gel/magnetic polishes require LED curing—about 60 seconds per nail.

To extend wear, use a base coat and top coat, choose formulas marketed as long-lasting or chip-resistant, or use gel formulations that are cured for a more durable finish.

Some sets include mini basecoat and glitter topcoat bottles. Gel magnetic polishes may require an LED lamp and a magnet tool—often sold separately—to create and set the magnetic effect.

Apply magnetic gel polish in thin coats to prepped nails. While the polish is uncured, hover the magnet tool over the nail to form the magnetic effect, then cure each nail under an LED lamp (about 60 seconds) to finish.

Many glitter polishes advertise smooth, even application with easy-glide or contoured brushes. Some claim one-coat coverage, while others note that certain shades may require multiple coats for full coverage.
