goo gone grout

Grout cleaners commonly claim to remove soap scum and limescale, disinfect and deodorize, and eliminate mold and mildew stains on grout and tile.

Many grout cleaners are offered unscented, though some scented options are available—examples include apple-scented formulas and products labeled simply as “scented.”

Some grout-cleaner formulas advertise a protective action—described as forming an invisible barrier or protective layer—that helps reduce liquid and soil absorption into grout.

Grout cleaners use several chemistries and actions, including hydrogen peroxide/oxy (oxygenated) formulas to loosen soils and bleach-based foams for soap scum and stain removal.

Grout cleaners are commonly sold as foaming formulas (sprays that cling to surfaces) and as liquid, ready-to-use cleaners.

Packaging ranges from single bottles to refill jugs and multi-bottle case packs; examples include 32 oz bottles, 128 fl oz refill jugs, and case-of-12 packs.
