[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a working single mom with a kid, a dog, and a house that's basically the neighborhood hangout, so my rugs take a beating. Overall I'm happy with this cleaning solution. I used it on the entry mats at both the front door and the patio door, the runner in the main hallway, and the heavy duty rug in the dog room. These rugs have been through the shoes of about a hundred neighborhood kids, snow boots from two Michigan winters, and muddy dog paws pretty much daily. None of them have ever been deep cleaned other than getting regularly vacuumed, so they were definitely due. They look really nice now. I'll be honest though, these are heavy duty rugs that are made not to show dirt, so it's hard for me to point to a before and after and show you a big difference. But they came out looking clean and fresh, which is what I was going for. As far as odor, everything smells like nothing now, which is good. It's a baking soda cleaner so it isn't supposed to smell like anything, and honestly I hadn't noticed any smells before I started either. Nothing lingering and nothing perfumey covering something up. For two entryways and a dog room rug that's exactly what I want. The messes were mostly just everyday tracked-in dirt, but a lot of it built up over time. Two entryways get whatever comes in on everyone's shoes, and the dog room rug gets the kind of use you'd expect from a dog room. So this wasn't one specific spill, it was more like years of buildup on the rugs that get walked on the most. The thing I liked most is that it doesn't have a scent. A lot of cleaning products are really heavy on fragrance and in a high traffic area that can honestly end up smelling worse than whatever you were trying to clean up. I'd rather have baking soda do the work and not leave anything behind. My one complaint is the measuring. The instructions say to add 5 mL of the solution to the container, but the cap only has two fill lines on it and they're just marked 1 and 2. Neither one says 5 mL so I had no idea which line I was supposed to fill to. I ended up guessing. That seems like an easy fix and it's worth fixing, because if someone uses too much or too little they're going to think the formula didn't work when really it was a labeling thing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time using this cleaning solution and I was quite impressed. It was easy to use with my upright carpet cleaner. We have two dogs so our carpet sees it share of accidents and stains. I tried this solution on both fresh stains and old stains and it got most of the stains out. The caked on stains took more times but it worked pretty well overall. It got rid of most odors as well. My favorite way to use this solution is to get the dirt and mud that our dogs track in from their bathroom trips outside.

I love it because having two kids and two cats, my carpets and upholstery in my home and vehicles need help. My overall impression with the Bissell Essentials Deep Clean w/Baking Soda was really great. I was able to lift some stains on my kids carpet and it smelled great afterwards too. It wasn’t too overpowering and just left a clean refreshing feeling. The Bissell Essentials Deep Clean with Baking Soda has been a great change for these stains, especially for the tougher pet stains. I love the fresh scent that isn't too overwhelming as well. The addition of the baking soda really helps to break up the stains and bring out the carpet like new again.

I had old spilled soda, red juice and other stains I couldn’t previously get out of this rug and now they are gone! I was completely shocked by how well this cleaning formula eliminated and freshened my carpet. It not only works fantastically but smells amazing too! It’s like I have a new rug again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cleaning solution is just OKAY for me. honestly, I do love Bissell products- I think they are superior when it comes to carpet / upholstery cleaning both solutions and machines but I really didn't see much difference using this product in comparison to other bissell cleaning products. Don't get me wrong, the cleaning formula is fantastic - it certainly does what you want it to do- but so does every other bissell cleaning product. I used this to clean my living room couch and carpet- it's our heavy use, heavy traffic- heavy kid spill area. It cleaned like no other- I mean everything came out and the dirty water absolutely showed how well it cleaned. My couch and carpet are literally sparkling, and they smell clean- but there are other lines of Bissell solutions that I prefer the smell better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Essentials Deep Clean with Baking Soda is a good cleaning liquid compatible with the Bissell upright cleaning machine. It did a decent job of cleaning my carpets and eliminated the musty scent that had been lingering for years! The cleaning liquid was good for cleaning my carpet but not for removing stubborn stains. I can see the dust, grime and hair thoroughly removed, leaving my carpet feeling fresh and clean but the stains that have been there for years remain. To be fair, these are old stains that have set in a long time ago. What I like the most about this formula is the baking soda ingredient. It leaves my carpets smelling clean and refreshed. Overall, this is a great cleaning solution for everyday maintenance or for more recent stains.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this cleaning solution in my Bissell revolution upright machine to clean dirt from heavy foot traffic and a fresh pet stain off of an area rug. Overall the product did a good job, pet stain came out completely and the baking soda must have done its thing and eliminated the scent that typically lingers behind. We haven’t had any issues with our pup going back to that spot. I didn’t notice any fragrance with this solution like the ones I’ve previously used. I personally prefer a fresh scent but it’s not a deal breaker.

After trying different formulas, I can definitely say that using the Bissell Essentials with Baking Soda has been the best option for stain removal. We constantly have marker and makeup stains to get out that my kids have gotten on our carpets. The Baking soda effectively got the dirt and most stains out. I love the fresh, clean scent it leaves behind as well. We will for sure keep this formula in our cleaning routine from now on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have some urine stains from an elderly cat, so I was hoping for a heavy duty odor-removing cleaner. The scent from this cleaner is very strong and artificial. I don’t like that my whole house now smells this way. The strong scent leaves me questioning whether the cleaner is really removing odors or just covering them up. That said, it still pulled a lot of dirt out of the carpet. The cleaning solution seems to clean just fine - but I just don’t know that it’s really removing any odors.

I use this product with my Bissell steam cleaner on a very dingy rug that badly needed washed. This Bissell formula contains baking soda and I believe that definitely would help whiten my rug. I ran the steam cleaner over the rug twice and I couldn't believe how much dirt and grime this formula was able to pull from my rug. The rug looks brand new, just like the first day I got it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Baking Soda Solution for upright carpet cleaners tackled a puke stain from my toddler after over indulging in pumpkin. Immediately after the incident I used a pet stain solution but it was no match for the acid and carpet which created a deep stain. The Baking Soda Carpet Solution was applied a few weeks after and pulled the stain out. I did several applications and went over the area in different directions while also allowing the area to dry a few times as to not over saturate the carpet. It left a refreshing smell that wasn’t like other solutions where the cologne is overpowering and lingers heavily. The carpet was returned to its original state as if my toddler was never there!
