Sulfur acne treatments are available as overnight creams/night treatments, clay or kaolin masks, liquid or cream spot treatments, and concentrated white sulfur sediments applied directly to blemishes.

They’re commonly formulated for acne-prone, oily, combination, and sensitive skin; some products also note suitability for normal or mature skin.

Apply sulfur products to clean skin. Mask formulas are generally left on for about 10 minutes and used 2–3 times per week. Spot treatments are dabbed directly onto blemishes and left for several hours or overnight. Use frequency varies by product—follow the product label; some recommend once daily, while other spot formulas allow up to 1–3 applications per day.
