Step up your Wi-Fi
1. Get online
First, you have to get connected to the Internet, which is what a modem does. Specifically, it serves as a bridge between your local network & the Internet from your service provider. Modems or modem/router combos are connected via cable or phone jack.
Before you purchase a modem, make sure to check that it will work with your cable provider. Don’t forget that you’ll need a router (or whole-home Wi-Fi), too.
2. Create your Wi-Fi network
Next, you need a device that can broadcast your Wi-Fi signal. To do this, you’ll need whole-home Wi-Fi or a traditional router. Your whole-home Wi-Fi system or router connects to your modem with an Ethernet cable.
If you have a larger home or area to cover, or experience dead zones, this multi-node system is what you’ll want. It’s super easy to set up & manage.
