Finish not as expected

I like the design of this bed in theory, but there are a few finish issues I wasn't expecting. One is that the white finish is actually like a thermoform wrap with a brown splatter detail that makes it look scratched up. It is not attractive. Also, the piece at the head of the bed is not fluted like the rest of the bed (not an issue for us but may be for someone). Another item is that the long sides come in 2 parts, so there is a viable seam in the middle. One functional issue is the big gap between the frame and mattress at the corners. The corner is sharp so I had to put something on it to prevent injuries. I am hoping that the comforter will cover the visible hole otherwise we may need to trade this one in.
