Q: How do I fill the tank with water?

  • A: We will be happy to provide that information. To fill the water tank, remove the tank from the base and turn it upside down. Unscrew the cap that is located on the now exposed base of the unit. The cap will unscrew to the left. Once the cap is removed, you can put water into the tank. Make sure to line the cap up correctly and tighten it before turning the tank right side up. Q: I purchased this humidifier to replace an older model I had. Are you supposed to smell the Vicks Vapo Liquid in the room while this is on? Because mine isn’t at all and my old model did and it was very effective.

Strong plastic/ chemical smell coming from unit even after cleaning. Scale develops rapidly on the heating element. It’s disgusting and not what you want to be breathing. Not much mist is created anyway.

We would not expect this humidifier to smell like plastic/chemicals as you have described. We'd like to help. Please note, minerals from your water will collect on the heating element and once they harden, the heating element slows to a pace that is not sufficient to create mist. We recommend using undiluted, distilled white vinegar to descale the unit and bleach to disinfect. It is advised to perform this cleaning once a week, as outlined in the owner's manual. Bought this item today as we had one previously and it worked fine but was about 4yo and started to not work. The new one is junk. Filled it with distilled water, it’s level, plugged into its own outlet and it works for all about 5 minutes before the red light comes on. Go to the Vicks YouTube page and read the comments there as well. This machine has changed and is crap. Will be returning in the morning. It also clicks like crazy, not sure why.

I've been using this for a little over a week and I love it so much, it's been a game changer for my nose and my cold room. My previous humidifer let out only cold steam so my room felt cold even with the heater on and my nose would be so cold in the mornings. This one a bit bigger than my last one, but it holds more water and is much quieter. Also I can feel my room get warmer within minutes, which reallly helps me sleep better at night. I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect, but I've actually felt a lot more well rested in the mornings after using this. I don't use any essential oils or aroma, I just put cold water in the tank and let it do it's thing. Cleaning it has also been very easy so it hasn't been a pain to clean it weekly, as per the instructions.

Ok so it works…but at the cost of your dresser. I had a towel under it & it STILL RUINED THE DRESSER with a huge white spot that won’t come off no matter what. Now I’ll have to refinish the dresser to hopefully get it looking good again. So frustrating!!!

So far this has done what it should. It provides enough steam to moisturize your throat and helpful for sons asthma. It is simple to fill and last all night on the highest setting. Great part about it is that it turns off once all the water is out. It is very easy to clean and almost impossible to form mold. I just rinse it when done and set in bathroom counter upside down to air dry.

We like using this humidifier for our kids when they're sick in cold weather. It keeps their room a little warmer and provides enough humidity to help ease their coughs and congestion. I've read some reviews that say it doesn't work but with this humidifier it takes about 5 minutes to heat up first before it starts putting out moisture. This is our third one we've bought (as we've added more kids to our family) and all of them work just fine. For the older kids, the Vicks pads or liquid added to the cup is nice too.

I’m happy with it. Put a tray under it - I mean it’s filled with water…basic precaution. Works great, small water capacity but enough to run all night on high. When the red light comes on, turn the unit off BEFORE you remove water unit. Then refill and replace water unit and turn back on. If you remove and refill and put water back on the red light won’t reset. I couldn’t figure that out and was frustrated for a second but now it’s easy. If you currently use cool mist you’re going to be really really happy with this!
