A: They are called Protec Humidifier Cleaning Fish. They are meant to float in the water and keep your humidifier clean longer. If you look at the video on the counter next to the humidifier you can see the blue/teal fish shape. I purchased them when I purchased the humidifier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This humidifier by Vicks is great to have on hand for cold season. There’s a cool mist that comes out with two settings and 20 plus hour run time. I like that it doesn’t make the room feel overly humid like ones I’ve used in the past. The set up is easy and straightforward. It has a little hum but it isn’t loud. I like that this has filter for a more clean moisture and a slot for Vicks vapor pads to work along with the humidifier to help provide even more relief from congestion or dry noses. I think it works pretty well especially in smaller spaces like a room that you can close the door to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the concept of this humidifier and the cool moisture really helps keep the air comfortable, especially during the dry winter months. It works well and does what it’s supposed to, but one thing I didn’t expect is the bubbling noise it makes every now and then. The sound isn’t constant, but when it happens it’s loud enough to startle us while we’re sleeping. Because of that, we’ve decided to use it only during the daytime. If you’re a light sleeper, just be aware of the occasional bubble noise — otherwise it’s a solid humidifier for daily use.

Not worth it
This humidifier kind of sucks. It uses a fan to push out the air. It is quite loud ans scared my toddler. She wouldn't go near it. Because of the fan like function, the air still felt very dry and I felt it really didnt do a great job. I was sick and in a state with pretty dry climate, so I was really looking forward to this product and was very disappointed.

Every dry home needs one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is exactly what our home needed in this dry season! It was very easy to setup, use and maintain. It holds a large amount of water and the seal works very well. It has two settings to adjust the amount of water it uses. There have been times where I've woken up with a bloody nose from our house being so dry in the winter, but that problem has been solved with this humidifier by Vicks! It even has a spot to fit two of their scent pads, where the previous humidifier I bought years ago only had one slot for the scent pads. Definitely an upgrade!

Not sure if I got a faulty
Not sure if I could have faulty, but no mist has been seen coming out, when its on the water last a long time. Which gives me an indication that it's not working great compared to my other kids in the other room that one in the morning.I need to refill, and you can actually see the mist.

Within a week of using, the tank decided to let loose and leak water out of the back where the electrical components are. Also, the filter started yellowing after only 5 or 6 uses.

It started putting out a cool, quiet mist right away. It’s made a huge difference for my dry winter skin and that awful dry nose feeling. I can actually breathe at night now, and I’ve been sleeping so much better.

Perfect for my toddler room
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried so many humidifiers over the years, and honestly, most of them have the same problem — you have to set a timer, or the entire room ends up wet and uncomfortable. But this one is completely different. This Vicks Filtered Cool Mist Humidifier uses a smart filtered technology that controls the mist output, so it does not over-humidify the room. You just turn it on… and it works perfectly on its own. It’s also very quiet — on the higher setting you can hear a soft sound, but it’s more like a soothing white-noise machine, not a loud humidifier. Honestly, I found it really calming. What I love most is that it’s perfect for my toddler’s room. She doesn’t like inhalers at all, but this is even better — especially when I use it with Vicks VapoPads. The gentle vapors help her breathe easier while she sleeps.

A Nicer, More Modern Spin to the Vicks Humidifier

I had a Vicks humidifier when I was a kid, but this is definitely a much more nice and modern spin to it! It’s so easy to assemble, has a sleek design, smooth vapor output, and huge water capacity! I love that it doesn’t put out an obnoxious cloud of vapor like it used to-you can’t even see it! It has a separate compartment compatible with Vicks VapoPads-medicated pads that sooth throat and sinus irritation! It makes VERY little noise which I appreciate because I enjoy peace and quiet! This machine is perfect, especially for colds, allergies, and being prone to nosebleeds and other sinus issues like me! With the air being so cold and dry and not to mention, filled with viruses this time of year, I wish I had one of these much sooner! Highly recommend!

Much clearer and refreshed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vicks machine features a fully draining filter that is complete humidifier, yet it delivers exceptional performance that exceeds expectations. Assembly was straightforward; I simply inserted the paper filter, filled the tank with water, and it was ready to use. Cleaning is similarly effortless just remove the top cover, take out the filter, and wash both with simple water and mild soap. Despite its robust construction, the machine is lightweight and easy to move into different locations. The noise level is minimal, producing a gentle white noise that I find unobtrusive, especially since I am accustomed to it around my baby. To me, the sound is faint and not disruptive to sleep or concentration. I can see clearly through the small viewing window and place pads inside easily and the machine’s design ensures easy access for maintenance. Additionally, even upon waking in the morning, I notice a significant improvement in my sinuses, and I feel much clearer and more refreshed.

Sinus relief
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vicks Filtered Cool Moisture Humidifier is a must have for sinus issues during the cold season if you or your kiddos tend to get the sniffles. This humidifier lets of a nice steady stream of cool moisture and isn't loud so it won't bother you if you're running it during the night. It makes about as much noise as a very small fan. There's a small compartment for Vicks Vapor Pads as well to go a step further in helping clear and soothe your sinuses. It's very effective in helping my sinus issues and the instructions on set-up were very clear. It comes with a filter already installed, but this is an expense you'll need to keep up with after multiple uses as they need to be replaced. The unit is very safe to run and I haven't experienced any issues with it. All in all I am happy to have it and it's been a must have for myself and my family!
