Worth the purchase
I have had this product for 1 month now and I’m very pleased with it. I purchased it for my 2 story center hall colonial 2800 sq Ft house. It has brought the humidity level from 32% to 46% in every room. I verified this by moving my humidity meter through out the house. Being “old school” I haven’t tried the “app” so I can’t rate that.

Great Build, But Needs Seasonal Logic & Auto-Dry
While the Levoit Superior 600S (6000S) is a powerful and versatile machine, it falls short of being a truly "smart" device, earning a 3-star rating. Its biggest flaw is a lack of seasonal intelligence; the unit defaults to a rigid 40–60% range, ignoring that the ideal humidity for a home should fluctuate between 30–40% in the winter to prevent window condensation and 40–50% in the summer. A true year-round optimal setting would be a 30–50% range that adjusts automatically. Furthermore, the maintenance is surprisingly high-effort for a premium product, as it lacks an automatic dry setting to prevent mold and mildew; instead, you are forced to remember to trigger the dry cycle manually every single time the tank runs out or the unit is turned off.

Easy!
Easy to fill, easy to move, easy to clean. Therefore I’ve given it a 4. But, it certainly does not humidify 3000 sq ft on a fill. The fill would need to be continuous. Since you should dry the filters out frequently, I certainly can’t get the humidity upstairs in my home above 25%. Keep in mind tho I live in the prairies so getting humidity is a constant battle. All that said, I’ve been thinking of buying a second humidifier!

Great concept, must improve the filters
I like the principal very much of the 600 – unit. It’s relatively quiet but if you get to the highest speed you can hear it throughout the house. Here’s my biggest issue and I hope the company takes this under consideration. The concept in the hose filling it up is great not having to fill it up so often. But the filters are really the issue here. I do get metal deposits that show from the beginning and they don’t last 3 to 6 months under no circumstances I replaced them with the Levoy black ones they look better but white metal deposits are very prevalent the biggest thing they stink right out of the box the water stinks when the residue you pour out you gotta rinse it out some milky yellow color comes from the filters. The filters are very expensive I think you get around a month out of them I’m tempted to use a hospital grade solution that’s made for humidifiers that you only need several ounces in 6 gallons to keep the stink down because it smells like voodoo blown through your house they’re very nasty smelling and I’m just not gonna use it that way so I’m gonna have to adapt. Secondly you need a heater in the winter time it blows colder out in the house cold air and it’s just like having a giraffe go through your house we want to put a blanket or sweater on so the void you can make a heater go in it safely you have the technology I’m sure secondly gotta do some of those filters they need to be more resistant to stink and bacteria and you do have to scrub the unit every 2 to 3 weeks with the toothbrush where the filters go because it gets a reddish pinkish residue. Keep in mind I use it every day in the winter it does make the house more humid that’s why I gave it a three, good job, put a heater in and improve those filters

Humidistat is not accurate.
I bought two of these humidifiers. One of them works correctly while the other measures humidity lower than actual (by 7%). So it ends up blowing hard on the fan attempting to get to 45% (as it thinks the humidity is 38%). Moved the humidifier to a different location in the house and the effect is the same.. The other humidifier works without issues. This makes me think its a quality issue. I am also a bit surprised why it is struggling to get the humidity to 45/50..certainly having these higher settings for 50-80 is moot..

Better than I Anticipated
I really love this humidifier! I had one that I had to fill by hand every morning and didn't like lifting the full, heavy container. The Smart Evaporative Humidifier is so much simpler....you take off the top section, wheel it over to the sink, connect the hose and fill it. I also love the Automatic setting where where it just adjusts the humidifier level from between 40% - 50% and you don't have to worry about a thing, If it gets low on water and I don't notice it, there is an automatic shutoff. As far as the noise, mine is running on full power most of the time and it's MUCH quieter than my other one.

Broke after 1 winter.
Broke after 1 season. I got it a year ago, worked great for winter. Then this year, after getting it from our storage closet, it won’t suck water up the tube anymore.i tried all cleaning methods to no success. Very disappointing for the price.

Died after one season
Lasted only one season (Jan to Mar 2025). Unboxed it from storage in a spare bedroom (climate controlled and undisturbed) just a few days ago. Unit indicates resevoir is empty, which it is not. Efforts to reset unit prescibed by Levoit failed on unit and app. Just purchased a Levoit air purifier a couple weeks ago. Will return for refund, given lack of quality in Levoit products.

Great humidifier but needs a better sensor to turn
It works great when it is running but the sensor lets the humidity drop too much before turning on.

Malfunctioned after ~9 months of use. Do Not Buy.
When I set up my humidifier today, it won't function. Upon starting it, the red light that indicates there is no water comes on after 5 seconds and the unit shuts off. However, the water tank is full and the top part is fitted correctly on the unit. This seems to be the same problem someone else reported on this site. Over the 2 years, I probably ran it for a total of 8-10 months. I kept it clean and followed all instructions for storage. The 2 year warranty ran out 7 days ago.

Sleek, good design, mist-free product
This is a good alternative to the ultrasonic humidifiers that produce mist. It makes a sound due to the fan, but is not bothersome. It does help increase the humidity in the room, but you'd need a few of these if you aim to raise the humidity to 50% in a large room. I appreciate the hose accessory that allows for easy filling. The wheels are a bit cheap, so I would like a future product to include wheels that roll better. Overall highly recommend.

Surprise Surprise!
This helps my plants (I have well over 100 indoor plants) and helps me out big time. I suffer from terrible sinus and allergies issues, in a very dry state so really, this is a game changer to the whole family, including the cats, dogs and plants! I’ve noticed a huge difference, health wise, since we have had the humidifier. On the Other hand, funny thing is that we’ve had this humidifier for almost a year and JUST NOW found out that there’s an app available, WiFi and so many more features and functions that we were oblivious to, all because the instruction manual was neatly placed in a drawer…. until today! I’m tellin you, the instructions were definitely a game changer. I felt like I just opened up a brand new shiny gift, ready to play! Final thoughts - going forward instruction manuals are a MUST ha ha ha ha!!!!

Best humidifier on the market
Been running for 3 years now without a hitch. I absolutely love how easy it is to fill at the sink, and love how big the tank is.

Keep your musical instruments in tune and happy!
I bought this evaporative Humidifier because I have several musical instruments in my apartment. Musical instruments are not happy or healthy in a dry environment. This is why you often see instruments kept in a separate room in quality music stores. The Humidifier also helps the instruments stay in tune. One of my many instruments is a Hammered Dulcimer. Before I bought the humidifier, I could hear the strings or the wood that holds the strings pinging because the room was too dry.. A dry room can also do permanent damage to your instruments in cold weather.

Efficient but needs a lot of attention
Does a good job humidifying the house but it sometimes makes a squealing noise and I don't know why or how to make it stop. Filters need cleaning every time we fill the tank.

Best evaporative humidifier with a large capacity
This is the best evaporative humidifier with a large capacity out there for us... we considered the Venta (neighbor has one) and tried the Vornado 4 gallon. Venta's airflow design isn't ideal for sitting next to a wall or in the corner, which is very problematic in a tight NYC apt. 6 gallon is bigger than Vornado's 4, and the refill method is much easier. We use NYC tap water, which is soft, so folks with bad/hard water may be better off with a wicking action like the Vornado instead of pumping action like this one. Some tips: Make sure you use a water bacteriostatic additive like Essick/BestAir/Venta/etc. Or mix your own like we do... they all use some combination of a quat (we use Steramine tablets) and citric acid (we get food grade powder) or ethyl alcohol. Use the app to be able to use Humidity Fan mode instead of Humidity Smart mode or Auto, which allows you to keep the fan speed low and quiet. Things that Levoit can improve: better wheels, a bigger/taller capacity model, more fine-tuned control in the app around humidity targets. Right now, if you set a target humidity, it will kick own when humidity is target minus 5% and keep running until it gets to target. I would prefer to be able to set the range of off & on to control when it kicks on and when it goes off. We currently use the app to set it at 43% so it fluctuates in a 5% range around our ideal of 40% humidity.

Superior 6000S - Running it continuously
I purchased this to help with the dry air in my home during winter. I have run it on the highest setting, 24 hours a day with no issues. It goes through the 6 gallons in about 24 hours. I'm very satisfied. The "dry" mode is also good to keep the filters in good shape.
